Pattaya flesh eating fish

August 10, 2014 by David Herd

This is not a travel blog, it is part of my personal photo history.

Pattaya flesh eating fish

Pattaya flesh eating fish

Pattaya flesh eating fish seemed to be the focus on my two visits to Thailand in 2010, the first trip was mid January to meet Bill Austin & Joan Baptiste, my friends from England who were on their way to Australia for the first time.

Three visits to Thailand 2010 in another busy year of travel including Cambodia, Singapore, French Riviera, Cinque Terre Italy, Switzerland & Austria.

Joan & Bill in the Baht Bus

Enjoying their first trip to Thailand.

Here we are at the Cherry Bar

Pattaya flesh eating fish

The Cherry Bar has been my favorite Thai beer bars since 2003.

Beer bars LK Metro.

Pattaya flesh eating fish

One of the good Thai beer bars in busy LK Metro in Pattaya. Greg Johnstone (2nd from left) has been a friend of mine for 25 years, we both lived on the Gold Coast in Australia.

Cheers dears

Pattaya flesh eating fish

Greg does enjoy a drink with the girls, just being a good boss I guess. 🙂

Ah! life in Pattaya, someone has to do it. 🙂

Pattaya flesh eating fish

As you can see, I really love living in Pattaya. LK Metro has many good bars & restaurants. Across the road from Billabong is i-Rovers another good sports bar. Billabong also has good cheap hotel rooms if you want to be in the middle of all the action. Book through AGODA for excellent rates. Low cost rooms are also available at i-rovers.

A rose between two thorns

Pattaya flesh eating fish

While on the subject of fun in Patttaya, here I am squeezed between two lovely ladies at the Atlantic one of the best Thai beer bars in 2nd rd.

When can I start having fun?

Out of control at the Jasmine beer bar in Soi 3.

Alan Kendall & a hot babe.

Pattaya flesh eating fish

Alan is an Aussie who seems to fit right in to the Pattaya scene.

The golfers like the Atlantic Bar

Pattaya flesh eating fish

Back in 2010 the golfers used to gather at the Atlantic bar Friday nights to drink beer and exaggerate about their amazing shots on the course that day. A very nice bunch of guys from all over the world, sadly they have now found a new venue for their after golf drinks.

Enjoying a beer at Gulliver’s with Alan Kendall

Pattaya flesh eating fish

Gulliver’s is an excellent sports bar about 100 meters from y condo.

Pattaya flesh eating fish, Tony Murphy

Pattaya flesh eating fish

Apart from the Thai beer bars the latest fad in Pattaya and other parts of the world is “Flesh-Eating Fish Performing ‘Pedicures’“, here is my friend Tony trying it out. I notice in the U.S. the process costs $45, in Pattaya it’s only $7.

Pattaya flesh eating fish

I drink Jack Daniels at the Cherry Bar & big Trevor from Western Australia prefers beer. He now lives in “The Cove” a luxury condo in Wongamat.

Wongamat beach

Pattaya flesh eating fish

Wongamat used to be a hangout for all the German expats, these days in 2014 the Russians have taken over.

Markland Condo on the left of the A1 hotel.

Pattaya flesh eating fish

When I was in Thailand 2010 little did I realize I would be living on the 20th floor of Markland Condo from October 2011 until now in April 2016.

Soi 4 foot massage

Pattaya flesh eating fish

One of the great benefits of visiting or living in Thailand are the fabulous foot massages. The lady with the lovely smile is still working in this same parlour now in 2014.

The magnificent Mantra

Pattaya flesh eating fish

My favourite restaurant in the whole world. The Sunday brunch is the best buffet I have ever had, everything from Alaskan crab, French oysters, NZ lamb, Japanese sushi, etc etc. There are seven different kitchens to choose from. Sadly the Amari Hotel made a stupid decision to close this magnificent restaurant in 2018.

The fabulous Mantra restaurant, Amari hotel in Pattaya Thailand.

Nana Plaza in Bangkok

Pattaya flesh eating fish

I have been visiting the Thai beer bars & go go clubs at the infamous Nana Plaza since 1996 and have seen many changes. Back then there was about 10% LadyBoys, in 2010 that had risen to 25% now in 2014 there seems to be 50%.

The Beergarden near Walking St Pattaya

Pattaya flesh eating fish

A very good venue for low cost food with a million dollar view. Lots of TV screens that seem to play music videos from the 80s.

Ice on the left with her friend Na.

Thai beer bars have flesh eating fish

I met Ice a couple of years ago when she was dancing at Nana Plaza, a very sweet lady indeed.

This is Pang (number 59) from the Honey Pot.

Pattaya flesh eating fish

Another sweet lady who worked at the Honey Pot in Soi 2. Sadly both her and the Honey Pot have disappeared.

My brother Warren at the Cherry Bar.

Pattaya flesh eating fish

My brother visits Pattaya every year, in February we discovered a new beach side village near Rayong called Mae Pim, check out my photo blog here.

 Sunday brunch at the Mantra.

Pattaya flesh eating fish

Another great lunch at the Mantra with a bunch of friends is September 2010.

Beautiful girl in Soi 3.

Pattaya flesh eating fish

Now in 2016 there does not seem to be as many attractive girls in the bars around North Pattaya as there used to be.

Gorgeous girl in Jasmine bar Soi 3.

Pattaya flesh eating fish

Half the bars in Soi 3 have closed and now A1 hotel is building across the road so in the next year or so I think most will be closed.

Warren, the boys & the Muslim girls

Now in March 2016 I am sad to say our great friend Lenny is very ill battling cancer. Keep up the good fight Lenny.

Sad to say Lenny lost the battle, RIP my friend.

Dinner in Soi 6, Ray, Lenny Warren & David

Pattaya flesh eating fish

The Queen Victoria hotel in Soi 6 serves very good food at a reasonable price.

Atlantic bar

Pattaya flesh eating fish

Atlantic is another bar I have been visiting for many years.

Thanks for visiting Pattaya flesh eating fish I’m guessing there must be 2000 Thai beer bars in Pattaya catering for your every desire. 🙂

Five Star Vagabond Brazil Travel Guide

to my top 12 places.

Five Star Vagabond Brazil Travel Guide

Number 12 is Belem

Five Star Vagabond Brazil Travel

Five Star Vagabond Brazil travel guide is a list of 12 of my favourite places in this great country. Lets start with number 12  Belem. The city is at the mouth of the Mighty Amazon river which represents more than half the planet’s remaining rain-forests and comprises the largest and most species-rich tract of tropical rain-forest in the world. Founded in 1616 by the Kingdom of PortugalBelém was the first European colony on the Amazon but did not become part of Brazil until 1775. The newer part of the city has modern buildings and skyscrapers. The colonial portion retains the charm of tree-filled squares, churches and traditional blue tiles. The city has a rich history and architecture from colonial times. Recently it witnessed a skyscraper boom.

I really enjoyed this old colonial city, I wish I had more time to sail down the river to Manaus.

Belem

Great colours on this old building.

Number 11 is Canoa Quebrada

Five Star Vagabond Brazil Travel

Canoa Quebrada is on the north coast of Brazil, I took a beach buggy along the beautiful long beaches.

Canoa Quebrada

Five Star Vagabond Brazil Travel

Wandering through the amazing coloured sands.  Canoa Quebrada is 164 kilometers from Fortaleza.

Fabulous sandhills in Canoa Quebrada

Five Star Vagabond Brazil Travel

Put this on your bucket list. 🙂

Number 10 is Balneário Camboriú

Five Star Vagabond Brazil Travel Guide

Balneário Camboriú (Portuguese pronunciation: [bawneˈaɾju kɐ̃boɾiˈu] is a major beach resort in the Brazilian southern state of Santa Catarina. The town, with its steep hills dropping down to the sea.

Balneário Camboriú

Five Star Vagabond Brazil Travel

What time can I start having fun?

Number 9 is Recife & Olinda

Five Star Vagabond Brazil Travel

Recife makes my number 9 in my guide only because of Olinda across the river. Olinda is a historic city in the Brazilian state of Pernambuco, located on the country’s northeastern Atlantic Ocean coast, just north of Recife and south of Paulista. It has a population of 397,268 people  and is one of the best-preserved colonial cities in Brazil.

Olinda is only 7 Kms from the center of Recife.

Five Star Vagabond Brazil Travel

During Carnival  there are  thousands of people  in the old historic town centre.

For a great hotel room rate in Brazil just book through THIS LINK.

Number 8 is Porto de Galinhas

Five Star Vagabond Brazil Travel

The origin of the name is well known. Porto de Galinhas means “Port of Chickens” in Portuguese. In the second half of the 19th century, the Brazilian government imposed restrictions to the commerce of slaves, which were widely used as manpower in the sugarcane farms around Recife to circumvent the prohibition, the “black ships” (which transported slaves from Africa to Brazil) looked for other places to harbor, far from Recife. One such place was in the bays around Suape and Ipojuca, about 60 km to the South of Recife. When a ship arrived in town, as it was prohibited to mention slavery, the word spread as “there are new chickens in the port”; hence, the place gained its name Porto de Galinhas.

My friends in Porto de Galinhas

Five Star Vagabond Brazil Travel

This is my lovely friend Simone, her Auntie & cousin Pedro. Simone & I traveled 300 kms from Natal to Recife by taxi.

Number 7 is Salvador in Bahia.

Five Star Vagabond Brazil Travel

The Lacerda Elevator is the first lift of the urban world. It was December 8 of 1873  when it opened it was the highest in the world, around 20 meters tall.  In Salvador it is public transport between Cairu Square , in Lower Town , and Thome Square de Souza , in the Upper Town .

Salvador Fort de Santa Maria

Five Star Vagabond Brazil Travel Guide

Forte de Santa Maria is on Salvador’s south coastline, built with stone and lime between 1627 to 1635. It served as a fortification during the Dutch invasion. It Contained lots of  bronze and iron cannons, it is certainly worth visiting this impressive Italian style fort.

Number 6 is Buzios

Five Star Vagabond Brazil Travel

Búzios is a popular getaway from the city and a worldwide tourist resort  for Brazilians and Argentinians. Only 3 hours drive from Rio.

Early in the 1900s Búzios was popular with the Carioca’s high society  looking to escape from the chaotic city life of Rio de Janeiro. there are more than 23 beaches on the peninsula. However it was 1964 when the famous French actress Brigitte Bardot visited Búzios, she made it famous throughout the world as a popular tourist destination.

Here is a guide to Buzios, a great town

Five Star Vagabond Brazil Travel

Lots of beaches, restaurants and bars, Buzios is definitely one of Brazil’s HOT destinations. Only 3 hours drive from Rio make sure you add this great town to your Brazilian bucket list. There are many good pousadas to choose from here.

Without a doubt AGODA is the best online Hotel booking site.

Number 5 is Florianopolis

Joaquina beach.

Five Star Vagabond Brazil Travel

Florianopolis is a wonderful Brazilian city,  in 2009. Newsweek placed Florianópolis in the “Ten most dynamic cities of the world” list in 2006. Veja magazine, a Brazilian publication, named the city as “the best place to live in Brazil The New York Times also reported that Florianopolis was the Party Destination of the Year in 2009.”

There are 42 beaches in Florianopolis

Five Star Vagabond Brazil Travel Guide

Flori is a must for those of you who love beautiful beaches with clean white sand. If I rated it as high as number two on my list it would not be an exaggeration.

Oysters at Barra da Lagoa.

Five Star Vagabond Brazil Travel Guide

Florianopolis was the “Party Destination of the Year in 2009.”

Number 4, Iguazu falls, magnificent.

Five Star Vagabond Brazil Travel Guide

Sadly when I was at the falls in 1999, digital cameras were in the early stages and the quality of photos was 2nd rate. Consequently I have no shots that do justice to this wonderful location. Without a doubt Iguazu falls is the most breathtaking & spectacular sight I have ever seen.

Five Star Vagabond Brazil Travel Guide

Five Star Vagabond Brazil Travel Guide

Forgive me for using a 3rd party photo but the falls are so spectacular I thought I could break one of my rules.  😳

For a great hotel room rate in Brazil just book through THIS LINK.

Number 3 is Paraty

Five Star Vagabond Brazil Travel Guide

Paraty is only 3 hours from Rio and is known for the cobblestone paved streets throughout the Historic Center District. No cars or trucks are allowed in this part of town. Without any doubt this wonderful village is one of my favourite locations in Brazil.

David Herd on the good ship “Lolypop”.

Five Star Vagabond Brazil Travel Guide

There are lots of great boats in Paraty that you can hire to explore the waterways.

Please click on Google + to help my page ranking.

Could this be my favourite photo?

Five Star Vagabond Brazil Travel Guide

You better believe it, I’ll remember Paraty forever. 🙂

Number 2 is Praia De Pipa

Five Star Vagabond Brazil Travel Guide

Praia De Pipa is one of those rare gems you tend to talk about all your life. Pipa Beach is one of the most famous beaches of Brazil. Located 84 kms from Natal, the capital city of state of Rio Grande do Norte. Do yourself a favor and put it on you Brazilian bucket list.

Five Star Vagabond Brazil Travel Guide Pippa beach

Five Star Vagabond Brazil Travel Guide

I remember sitting in a bar in Rio Di Janeiro with two friends Dave Wylie & Doug Roarke, (RIP) and when I asked what was their favorite place in Brazil, Doug briefly considered the question before saying “Praia de Pipa”. Until that moment I had never heard of the place, but on Doug’s recommendation I planned my trip.

The catch of the day at Pippa

Five Star Vagabond Brazil Travel Guide

Pipa was a small fishing village until the 1970s. Then it was discovered by surfers and backpackers, attracted by a set of natural attributes rarely found even in other Brazilian beaches, crystal-clear waters, fine white sand, areas of preserved Atlantic Forest, 10-meter-high vertical cliffs, and friendly locals.

Number 1 is not hard to guess,

Rio Di Janeiro

Five Star Vagabond Brazil Travel Guide

Rio is an exciting destination, wonderful beaches great weather and colourful happy people. I normally rent an apartment near the beach rather than stay in a hotel. It usually costs me $50 per night however my last trip was 2009 and I believe the city is far more expensive now.

I mentioned earlier in my Brazil travel guide Iguazu Falls was the most spectacular natural spectacle I have seen on this planet, well the Rio Carnival is the most spectacular human event I have ever witnessed. As they say in the classics, “you gotta love Rio.” 😆

Copacabana, say no more….

Also there is no doubt in my mind theirs is the most beautiful colour in the world.

Canon Camera Love Travelling

December 25, 2013 by David Herd

Hoi An in Vietnam

Canon Camera Love Travelling

Canon Camera Love Travelling. When you grow up in Australia you soon realise that every other country in the world is beyond the sea. Somewhere in my teenage years I was bitten by the travel bug, I have been to 50 countries and 600 cities. Here is a collection of my favourite travel photos in no particular order, however the one above just happens to be my number one favourite.

Here is Bobby Darren with the appropriate song.

Copacabana

Perhaps the worlds best beach for people watching. Since my first trip there in January 1999, I returned another 7 times, with the last time being October 2010.

Future super models in Rio

Canon Camera Love Travelling

As soon as I raised my camera they struck a pose, did not have to be asked to do it, the spirit of Rio

My boulevard of broken dreams.

Canon Camera Love Travelling

W48th st & 8th ave Manhattan there is a nice French bistro, Pigalle. New York is my favorite city, it seems like six different cities molded together, there is such an exciting diversified collection of people and places make sure you give yourself enough time to soak up the atmosphere.

Tell us what you think Billy.

Canon Camera Love Travelling in Lisbon

Canon Camera Love Travelling

Canon Camera Love Travelling Lisbon is recognised as a global city because of its importance in finance, commerce, media, entertainment, arts, international trade, education and tourism. It is one of the major economic centers on the continent, with a growing financial sector and the largest/second largest container port on Europe’s Atlantic coast.

Koh Chang Thailand.

Canon Camera Love Travelling

Koh Chang is the 2nd largest Thai island after Phuket. Stay in a bungalow on the beach and enjoy the terrific Thai food. In many ways Koh Chang reminds me of Koh Samui 15 years ago. I used to love Koh Samui in the 90′s but the more it developed the more the attraction faded.

Valparaiso in Chile

Canon Camera Love Travelling

Valparaiso is by the sea in Chile about 100 kilometres from Santiago. I bet this fantastic house has been photographed millions of times, perched on the edge of a sheer drop you would not want to be a sleep walker. This is one of the escalators (Ascensores) connecting the harbor area to the hills, and the building is the restaurant Las Brujas.

Sanctuary Cove on Australia’s Gold Coast

Canon Camera Love Travelling

The Gold Coast has many world class golf courses, it was the home of Adam Scott who is currently number 2 in the world.

Canon Camera Love Travelling  in South Beach Miami

Canon Camera Love Travelling

The fabulous art deco towers are unique examples of this form of architecture, they along the eight and a half mile stretch of  Beach. All told there are twenty five towers guarding those who use the beach. At once functional and decorative, they contribute beautifully to the overall aesthetic of this Floridian resort city.

Beautiful faces in Rio De Janeiro

Canon Camera Love Travelling

Carnival in Rio is awesome, it is really the greatest show on Earth. I was at the Sambadrome in 1999 and 2005, then I celebrated Carnival at a Bloco in Ipanema in 2008. I was way up in the bleachers in 1999 so in 2005 I paid about $500 to have a front row seat. Therefore I have been fortunate enough to have experienced Carnival from 3 different aspects.

I went to Nha Trang twice in 2004 and hope to return July 2014.

Canon Camera Love Travelling

Once a year, when the great Rio De Janeiro carnival takes place, the coastal town Paraty which is located 250 km south west to Rio, holds a unique carnival. In Paraty’s Mud Carnival – (Portuguese: Bloco da lama) the costumes that its participants wear is black sticky mud which is smeared on their bodies.

The carnival preserves the ancient local tradition when the Indians smeared their bodies with black mud for medical reasons, and held ritual ceremonies in order to bring cure to the ill. In contrary to Rio carnival where the participants wear marvellous coloured costumes, in Paraty carnival the fiesta is based mostly on the simplicity of the junction between men and nature.

Fantastic seafood in Salzburg.

Canon Camera Love Travelling

So much wonderful seafood on sale at a city nowhere near the ocean.

Salzburg is the fourth largest city in Austria and the capital of the federal state of Salzburg. Salzburg’s “Old Town” has internationally renowned baroque architecture and one of the best-preserved city centres north of the Alps.

The Old Bridge on the river Arno in Florence

Florence is a beautiful city, I have been there 3 or 4 times and can’t wait to visit again. I saw a lot of the city and surrounding areas thanks to my good friend Francesca.

HCMC or Saigon is a truly wonderful experience, I was there in 2015 and millions of $$$$ are being spent to transform this amazing metropolis.

From as early as 1980 I knew I would Have Camera Love Travelling around the world & often to Thailand, but I never thought I would live there permanently. However in October 2011 I left Australia and moved to Thailand. This is probably the final stage in my wonderful life.

Kuala Lumpur friendly city

September 19, 2013 by David Herd

The iconic Petronas Towers.

Kuala Lumpur friendly city

Kuala Lumpur friendly city

Kuala Lumpur friendly city and well worth adding to your travel bucket list. The amazing Petronas towers official definition and ranking indicated they were the tallest buildings in the world from 1998 to 2004 until surpassed by Taipei 101, but they remain the tallest twin building in the world. The buildings are the landmark of Kuala Lumpur with nearby Kuala Lumpur Tower.

Kuala Lumpur Tower

Kuala Lumpur friendly city, the tower was officially opened to public on 1 May 1996,  the building is a well known landmark of Kuala Lumpur with arch-rival Petronas Towers. Ok, lets get to some photos with some color rather than these dull day shots.  😳

The Pavilion shopping mall is located in the heart of the trendy Bukit Bintang district, across the road is the Starhill Gallery with many terrific bars & restaurants.

I’m with friends from Australia Les & Robyn Scheffer, (No longer friends, I’m firmly on their black list) at a very good German restaurant, my apologies for not remembering the name of the place.

Sad to say Les passed away in March 2020 after a long battle with cancer.

Pork knuckle & a cold beer.

What a monster dish, it was fantastic, and in the end I was declared the winner by a narrow margin.

Since the 1990s, Kuala Lumpur has played host to many international sporting, political and cultural events including the 1998 Commonwealth Games and the Formula One Grand Prix. In addition, Kuala Lumpur is home to the tallest twin buildings in the world, the Petronas Twin Towers, which have become an iconic symbol of Malaysia’s futuristic development.

Travelling Through South West England

July 23, 2013 by David Herd

Shaftesbury in Dorset

Travelling Through South West England

Wandering around South West England

Travelling Through South West England, I have taken thousands of photos there and this one is my favorite. It is Gold Hill, Shaftesbury which is in Dorset. There is a nice tea room at the top of the hill where you can enjoy scones with jam & cream while enjoying the view. I will try to give you some useful travel tips towards the end of this post.

Lyme Regis, Dorset.

Wandering around South West England

Lyme Regis in Dorset is a special place, the coastline in either direction is magnificent. The cliffs over the  boarder are grey and crumbling, those eastwards, towards Charmouth are also unstable – especially after heavy rain, and those at Black Ven are capped with a layer of Gold. The town is noted for the fossils found in the cliffs and beaches, which are part of the Heritage Coast—known commercially as the Jurassic Coast—a World Heritage Site. For information please click here.

Travelling Through South West England to Weymouth

Wandering around South West England

Weymouth is a seaside town in Dorset,  situated on a sheltered bay at the mouth of the River Wey on the English Channel coast. The town is 13 kilometres (8 mi) south of Dorchester and 8 kilometres (5 mi) north of the Isle of Portland. The town’s population is 52,323 (2011). The town is the largest settlement in Dorset following the unitary authorities of Bournemouth and Poole   The history of the borough stretches back to the 12th century; including involvement in the spread of the Black Death, the settlement of the Americas, the development of Georgian architecture, and preparations for World War II. Fishing and trading employ fewer people in the area since their peak in earlier centuries, but tourism has continuously increased its presence in the town since the 18th century and is now the primary industry.

Dorchester is the county town of Dorset. A historic market town, Dorchester lies on the banks of the River Frome, in the Frome Valley, just south of the Dorset Downs and north of the South Dorset Ridgeway, that separates the area from Weymouth, 8 miles (13 km) south. Dorchester is noted as being home and inspiration to the author Thomas Hardy, whose novel The Mayor of Casterbridge was based on the town. In the 2001 Census the official population of Dorchester was 16,171, although by 2010 this was estimated to have risen to 18,280.

St Ives in Cornwall

Wandering around South West England

St Ives is a seaside town, civil parish and port in Cornwall. The town lies north of Penzance and west of Camborne on the coast of the Celtic Sea. In former times it was commercially dependent on fishing. Wikipedia

Lands End, Cornwall.

Wandering around South West England

Here we are at Lands End in Cornwall, England’s most westerly point. Wind levels in winter reach around 20-25 knots, which is windier than most of England. The highest temperature recorded is 28.9 °C, and the lowest temperature recorded is -3.4 °C.

We have traveled north now to Bradford on Avon in west Wiltshire, one of my favourite English villages with some excellent pubs & restaurants.

My niece Laura love the scones at The Bridge Tea rooms.

Can afternoon tea get any better than this?

Tithe Barn Bradford on Avon

Wandering around South West England

A tithe barn was a type of barn used in much of northern Europe in the Middle Ages for storing tithes—one tenth of a farm’s produce which was given to the Church. Tithe barns were usually associated with the village church or rectory and independent farmers took their tithes there.

Tithe Barn

Wandering around South West England

The village priests wouldn’t have to pay tithes—the purpose of the tithe being their support—and some had their own farms anyway, which are now village greens in some villages.

Bruges beautiful Belgium city

June 28, 2013 by David Herd

Bruges is really worth a visit.

Bruges beautiful Belgium city

Bruges beautiful Belgium city

Bruges beautiful Belgium city, in fact I knew very little of this great place until I saw the 2008 movie called “In Bruges” with Colin Farrell, then I knew I just had to visit, I had the same feeling about Versailles after seeing the Woody Allen movie “Midnight in Paris,” so actually this European trip was planned around both those fascinating destinations. I was not disappointed the city is quite special, expensive but really special.  😆

Bruges waterfront homes.

Bruges beautiful Belgium city

Definitely a city that should be on your bucket list.

Without a doubt AGODA is the best online Hotel booking site.

Belgium Chocolates, yum!

Now we all know how famous Belgium is for its chocolates however I am willing to bet you don’t always get a warm smile from a lady when you give her some of these.

Coffee in the sunshine

Bruges beautiful Belgium city

Here are my two English friends Bill Austin & Dave Catchpole not looking too happy, maybe it was something they ate.  🙄

In fact they were grumpy most of the trip which caused us to split up once we got back to Brighton on the south coast of England.

I have no hesitation in recommending this beautiful place for you to visit,  remember to book your hotel before arriving. Check the weather forecast as well, it is so much nicer walking around the village taking photos with a beautiful blue sky.
