MK restaurants great value

MK restaurants great value at a very reasonable price. You will find them in most shopping malls, in fact there are 3 within 6 minutes walk from my condo on Beach Rd Pattaya. The one I visit most is at Central Marina.

My favourite soup

Prawn dumplings, noodles & BBQ pork, delicious.

Terrific Dim Sum

It’s December 2021 & I have eaten the same 3 dishes twice in the last 4 days at Central Marina. Shumei, prawn dumplings & BBQ pork buns.

MK restaurants great value with low cost food

There is an excellent range of Dim Sum & prices are very low as you can clearly see. 🙂 Even with the low prices the food quality is very high, as is the service.

Promotion

There always seems to be a promotion, I find it hard to believe all of the above is only B210, or $8 AUD.

Another look at the soup

It really is delicious, from memory it costs about B106 or $4 AUD. I’m getting hungry just looking at it. 🙂

Another triple treat

Cost for these 3 is about $7 AUD or B 180. It’s hard to find a restaurant in Pattaya which is better value than MK restaurant.

These are favourites

Prawn dumplings & crab shumei, a perfect pair, even the carrot they sit on is very tasty. 🙂 The good news is, you will find an MK restaurant in nearly every major shopping mall in Thailand.

Sky Gallery Pratumnak Hill Pattaya is a terrific venue for food & an ocean view in a very lay back enviroment. TripAdvisor rating is #91 of 1,099 Restaurants in Pattaya.

Relax and choose your poison. There are many different places here to eat & drink with your friends.

We both agree this was one of the best examples of this popular dish we have ever tasted, it was absolutely perfect.

Most people tend to eat outside & enjoy the view, my preference is always the aircon. 🙂

Served in a small ice bucket, it’s a well known fact that I’m a sucker for mango.

In my opinion it didn’t look to attractive but apparantly it tasted fine. 🙂

As you can see there are quite a few choices of where you can sit in this rather large establishment.

It’s been abut two years since I visited this excellent restaurant, I certainly won’t leave it that long to visit again.

Low cost Pattaya restaurants

Great value at Foodland

Low cost Pattaya restaurants, there are hundreds of them. Lets start with Foodland, a well known supermarket chain in Thailand, in each store you will find an excellent fast food counter. The quality is excellent, the food is always fresh because of the turnover, (it is always crowded) and the price is so cheap, for instance breakfast is about $2, and lunch under $3.

Central Festival food hall

Located in the basement of Pattaya’s most luxurious shopping mall is the food hall. A very cheap fast selection of good food. Always crowded because of the excellent value.

Mango & sticky rice

The food hall at Central Festival shopping mall has a great selection of deserts including a Thai specialty, mango & sticky rice. Yesterday I ordered this after my roast duck with vegetables & steamed rice, including a clear soup for a total cost of 280 Baht or $2.50.

KFC at Central Festival.

I would not normally mention a fast food outlet in my post, however there are exceptions. KFC without a doubt have one of the best views in Pattaya, so while the kids devour their chicken nuggets etc, sit there and soak up the view.

Beer Garden near Walking St

The Beer Garden offers good low cost food with a wonderful view of Pattaya Bay, a great spot to dine before hitting the bright lights of Walking Street. To find the entrance you must walk past all the bars near the kick boxing. Like most Thai restaurants the menu is a huge selection of western or Thai food.

Dining in a car park.

Great value Thai food here, average cost for dinner or lunch 200 Baht or $6. Next to theAlcazar carpark in 2nd road North Pattaya, opposite Soi 4, if you see a tall beautiful Thai woman here I can guarantee it is a ladyboy.

Agoda is a great place to book your Pattaya hotel.

Oishi Ramen low cost Japanese.

Oishi Ramen is another chain of very low cost Japanese & Thai food, I have lunch at least twice a week at the Big C mall on 2nd road north Pattaya. The Salmon and salad shown above with bottomless Green Tea costs 220 Baht or $7 usd, great value. More information about Oishi click here.

Oishi Japanese Buffet Restaurant

The buffet is excellent value at around 400 Baht or $14, eat as much as you want. I don’t rate the food as highly as Fuji however you can’t beat the value.

Mae Sri Ruen

Mae Sri Ruen is right next door to Central Festival on Beach Rd and serves good fresh Thai food at very low prices. The BBQ pork & dumpling soup is one of my favorites, add spring rolls and the price is 120 Baht or a touch over $4.

Queen Victoria Pub

Located on Soi 6 featuring an excellent breakfast at B99, or $4 AUD.

Lunch September 4 2021

I ordered this ice-cream sunday & was suprised when the waitress said, “today it is on special at B39”.

The avocado is my favourite at Mathilda in 2nd Rd.

Last time I had lunch there sadly there was was no avocado.

Food review Pattaya 2021 is simply a record of many of the great dishes I have enjoyed in these uncertain time due to the Coronavirus. Above is a healthy dish at Flow Cafe at the Holiday Inn. Comes with a hot Wasabi sauce. 🙂

Jasmin’s cafe Pattaya Klang

Jasmin’s cafe Pattaya Klang has a very relaxed atmosphere & good low cost food. I must admit I often go there for breakfast but have not tried anything else other than breakfast. I’m sure however the rest of the menu will be a similar quality.

Jasmin’s cafe is located in Pattaya Klang 200 meters from Beach Road. TripAdvisor rating is #32 of 1,096 Restaurants in Pattaya

Nice casual atmosphere

Inside seats around 18 people with a similar number outside.

Standard breakfast

There are quite a few good breakfast choices on the menu.

This is my favourite

Only B99 or $5 AUD, I really enjoy the little bit of Chinese sausage in this dish. My other favourite is their omelet.

Excellent croissant

After breakfast I usually wander along to Starbucks for my morning coffee & the Bangkok Post.

Prawn & Brocolli

This was absolutely delicious. Add 2 glasses of red wine & mango & sticky rive for a total cost of B540 or $24 AUD.

Chicken & cashew nuts

Nice dish with a glass of red & coconut ice cream at a cost of B360, or $15.75 AUD.

Mango & sticky rice

A Thai classic, morning, afternoon or night. 🙂

Coconut ice cream

A fantastic surprise, I only ordered after they had no sticky rice & it was delicious. 🙂

Club sandwich

A club sandwich & a coconut ice cream was great value at $12 AUD.

Omelet for breakfast

Good value including coffee or tea at B99 or $4.40 AUD.

Super beef burger

Another low cost exceptional meal, B189 or $8.00 AUD.

Followed by a tall mango juice

More great value at B89, or $3.80 AUD.

Outside or inside

The choice is yours. 🙂

Jasmine cafe Pattaya Klang

Halfway between Beach Road & 2nd road.

I go out for breakfast every morning, I find it’s a great way to start the the day. It also gives me some much needed exercise as I always walk for around 25 minutes or so. Other favourite places are Starbucks, Bon Cafe in Naklua Road, Took lae Dee at Foodland in Terminal 21, & Retox Game On in Soi Honey.

La Ferme North Pattaya Restaurant

La Ferme North Pattaya Restaurant is an interesting venue which is part of the Woodlands hotel in Naklua Rd near the Dolphin roundabout in North Pattaya. Upmarket decor and reasonably priced food, they specialize in Chicken which the name suggests. My favourite is the Honey Glazed Chicken with pepper sauce, only 400 Baht or $15. My only criticism is they overcharge for a glass of house wine, 150 Baht for a half measure. It’s a shame they are so mean with the wine because the food prices are good value. You used to be better off buying a bottle of Chile wine for 1100 Baht, but that was 2013, now the cheapest bottle is 1600 Baht and the average price is 2000, pour it yourself because they will try to push you to finish hoping they can sell you another bottle.

Absolutely delicious, it tastes as good as it looks.

Hungry Hippo Soi Buakhao

Hungry Hippo Soi Buakhao is a very popular low cost restaurant with a huge selection of meals both eat in or take away. Very highly rated by TripAdvisor at #235 of 1,103 Restaurants in Pattaya.

Terrific value

Very good selection of dishes at reasonable prices, consequently it is very popular with the locals.

Only a hop step & a jump from Cheap Charlies which is another very good restaurant in Soi Buakhao.

Breakfast

One of the cheapest in Pattaya at B79, or $3.26 AUD.

A very tasty chowder

From memory I think it was around B179.

Home delivery

The chowder was so good I had it home delivered. 🙂

Easy to find

There is no doubt Soi Buakhao is one of the busiest areas in Pattaya, so many places to eat and drink.

Without a doubt this is the largest cup of tea in the whole city. 🙂

Good Indian Food Pattaya

Good Indian Food Pattaya located in 2nd Rd just opposite the Royal Gardens shopping mall. I don’t often patronize Indian restaurants however the food at Zaika was very good so in future I will make an effort to visit other similar places.

Fairly mundane decor

In fact the upholstery on the booths looks like it needs a good shampoo. Otherwise it’s comfortable & compact.

Lets check out the food.

I ordered a chicken curry not too spicy.

Good Indian Food Pattaya

Lets take a closer look at the Good Indian Food Pattaya. The curry was excellent and the long grain rice exceptional.

TripAdvisor rating is #27 of 1,091 Places to Eat in Pattaya which seems a rather high rating, hard for me to judge after only one visit.

These prices are very low indeed.

They have a very busy home delivery service.

Pattaya Beach remodel

Pattaya Beach remodel

Pattaya Beach remodel between August 2021 & November 2023 has started with the removal of many trees & widening the footpath & the road.

Heavey equipment is raring to go

November 2023 seems a very long time to finish this project, I’m guessing it’s going to be very flash indeed. 🙂

Meanwhile back at the ranch…..

Work continues, many trees are being removed making lots of locals very unhappy.

These people are lodging aa complaint.

A group of prominent local Thai residents and community leaders came out today to Beach Road to protest the project. They stated that they felt it was destroying nature and was the wrong time to do a beach remodel with the city in such dire straits due to Covid-19. The project has been temporarily paused for discussions between the community leaders and the mayor.

Work continues

Many of these trees are over 60 years old.

That’s the Dusit Hotel in the background.

The extra traffic lane will allow for creation of 700 parking spaces along the 2.7-kilometer stretch between the Dusit Curve and Walking Street.

The blueprint also calls for creation of recreational areas on the beach, three underground restrooms and beach showers, plus the planting of new trees along Beach Road, and additional lighting for improved safety. This vital north-south artery, which only was fully patched up earlier this year after an agonizingly long bout of road construction, will be ripped up once again to widen it by three meters, taking that space from the footpath.

BJ Holiday Lodge in Soi 3 North Pattaya iserves an excellent breakfast including tea or coffee for B95, or $3.90 AUD. They also offer a good low cost selection of Thai & western food.

Scrambled eggs

One thing you can guarrantee is the bacon is always very crispy. I mentioned this to BJ one morning & he replied, “I serve it that way because that’s the way I like it.” 🙂

Served with fries for B85 or $3.47 AUD.

Did someone mention ice cream?

After a cheesebuger ice cream is conpulsary.

Pasta & Goulash

Back in the normal times before Covid-19, I would enjoy drinks at the Cherry Bar or the Atlantic Bar then walk home via Soi 3. Many times I would stop at BJs for dinner & a glass of wine.

Reminissing

This shot was taken in 2005 before BJs view of Pattaya Bay was lost due to another hotel building right next door. The room cost in those days was B540 or $22 AUD.
