Rooftop Bar Sathorn Bangkok

Waiting for sunset
Rooftop Bar Sathorn Bangkok is one of the many sky bars in this great city. I doubt if any city in the world has more roof top bars than Bangkok.
Located on the 38th floor of the Mode Sathorn Hotel which is right next door to Surasak sky train. A nice relaxing atmosphere and the drinks are rather expensive as you would expect.
Freeway traffic
The Bangkok afternoon traffic builds up just before sunset.
High above the traffic.
The bar opens at 6pm so you can have an early drink and wait for the sunset. It was rather disappointing on this particular due the the haze caused by farmers burning off in the north of the country.
Waiting for the crowd to arrive.
One this evening I enjoyed pre dinner drinks before dining at the Wine Connection in Patpong.
Wine Connection
A short train ride to Patpong and to will find the Wine Connection, an excellent restaurant.
Choose your wine
The variety & prices are excellent
Garlic prawns.
A very busy restaurant with a great selection of food and wine.

On the right is the State tower with the magnificent Sirocco on the 64 floor and in the middle is Centre Point hotel.
Rawiwan (Lucknam) Thaikam
The lovely lady is the Roof manager, very friendly with a beautiful smile. She has worked at some other bangkok Roof bars and I think the 38 bars is very lucky to have her on the staff.
State Tower and Lebua Hotel
As I mentioned earlier the wonderful Sirocco is perched on top at the 64th floor.

Sunset in Bangkok, time for a cold beer at Bangkok Roof 38 Bar.
On come the lights.
One night in Bangkok is never enough.
Great place for drinks
Time for me to pay my bill and head off for dinner.
interesting chairs at Bangkok Roof 38 bar
These interesting chairs are at the entrance on the floor below the bar.
Thanks for visiting.
When I’m in Bangkok I like to stay in Sukhumvit Soi 11, here is an excellent budget hotel, if you USE THIS LINK you will get a great rate of around B1100 per night, or $30 USD.
The best Bangkok budget hotel I have ever stayed in.
Here is another Sky Bar you should check out.
Everything you wanted to know about Bangkok but were afraid to ask. 🙂
