Brighton Beach English resort

The Eye Brighton beach

Brighton Beach English resort

Brighton Beach English resort

Brighton Beach English resort, what a pleasant surprise. If you can overlook the pebbles on the beach instead of sand there are so many great pubs and restaurants to choose from. The photo above was taken from my hotel, the New Madeira, only 40 Quid per night.

For a good discount just book through THIS LINK.

The Royal Pavilion

Without a doubt AGODA is the best online Hotel booking site.

Super travel tips. Great Britain has an excellent rail service, save up to 80% by booking your ticket before you arrive, just click here.

The New Madeira hotel is in a great location across the road from the Brighton Pier, only 40 Quid per night for a single room, the walls are a little thin so the rooms can be a little noisy, but the price is right as is the location. If you want something more upmarket choose the Holiday Inn.

If the English winter is too cold for you jump on a plane to Thailand

Soi 7 Pattaya Pubs Bars Babes

May 3, 2017 by David Herd

A great street for bars & pubs.

Soi 7 Pattaya Pubs Bars Babes

Soi 7 Pattaya Pubs Bars Babes

Soi 7 Pattaya Pubs Bars Babes along with it’s neighbour Soi 8 is one of Pattaya’s most popular drinking, eating & partying areas. Above is the corner of Soi 7 & Beach Rd.

Hello Welcome from Silver Star A go go

Soi 7 Pattaya Pubs Bars Babes

I was waiting for the Silver Star lady to yell out “HELLO WELCOME” which is heard nearly every time you walk past a Pattaya bar. 🙂

Olala bar & restaurant

Soi 7 Pattaya Pubs Bars Babes

Above is Ola la specializing in Norwegian and Thai food.

Breakfast at Olala.

Soi 7 Pattaya Pubs Bars Babes

They claim on their website to offer the beat breakfast in Pattaya which I strongly dispute. It’s no better or worse than many other Thai style bacon sausages & eggs. The eggs were excellent, the bacon average & the typical Thai sausages I didn’t eat. The cost was B145 including toast, jam, tea or coffee.

Eastiny Bella Vista

Soi 7 Pattaya Pubs Bars Babes

Located just behind Olala on the side road to Soi 8. Rooms here are around $25 per night if you book through THIS LINK.

Shower B20 & toilet B5. 🙂

Soi 7 Pattaya Pubs Bars Babes

What a bargain, especially if you have just come off the beach.

Lots of beer bars

Soi 7 Pattaya Pubs Bars Babes

Rather quiet through the day and very busy at night.

2nd Road entrance.

Soi 7 Pattaya Pubs Bars Babes

Soi 7 runs from Beach Rd through to 2nd Rd which is very convenient if you are travelling by Baht Bus.

Soi 7 Pattaya Pubs Bars Babes

Soi 7 Pattaya Pubs Bars Babes

The Pig & Whistle Pub one of the popular pubs in Soi 7.

Breakfast at The Pig & Whistle Soi 7.

Soi 7 Pattaya Pubs Bars Babes

I always ask them to remove the fried potato & tomato, this is what remains for B135 or $5aud.

Rosie O Gradys

Soi 7 Pattaya Pubs Bars Babes

Another popular pub & guest house, book through THIS LINK for a good discount.

Happy girls at Rosies

Soi 7 Pattaya Pubs Bars Babes

Service with a smile, certainly one of the great attractions of Thailand.

Chris from Wiltshire.

Soi 7 Pattaya Pubs Bars Babes

A flashback to January 2013 when 4 English friends including Chris came to Pattaya for the first time, naturally I was their tour guide. 🙂

The mob from England

Soi 7 Pattaya Pubs Bars Babes

It was a lot of fun seeing the reaction of these guys on their first trip to Pattaya.

Flashback to Soi 7 in 2004.

Soi 7 Pattaya Pubs Bars Babes

It’s hard to believe how time flies, 13 years have flashed by.

I remember it as if it were yesterday.

Pattaya Goods Services Directory

Pattaya Goods Services Directory

Pattaya Goods Services Directory

Pattaya Goods Services Directory hopefully will help you find some essential services in this city. It can be difficult to know who is good and who is average. I have a few of suggestions I can personally recommend which hopefully will save you some time.

The dentist you see in the header of this post is Dr Tapasat who can be found opposite the Dolphin roundabout. He trained and worked in the U.S.A for 20 years and speaks perfect English. He takes time to talk to you and clearly explains the procedures and alternatives.

They are currently moving to new premises close to the corner of Pattaya Nua & 3rd rd. Call 038 362 095 for details.

Dental Loft

Pattaya Goods Services DirectoryMany of my friends from Australia use Dental Loft, their prices are very competitive. In November 2019 a friend had these procedures, 1 x Implant – 1 x Root canal – 2 x removals and a complete clean which took 2 hours’ worth of grinding, price B55,000 or $2,640 AUD.  He says the average price in Sydney for an implant ranges between $3,500 – $5,000.

Location

Pattaya Goods Services Directory Just 300 meters from Big C extra in Pattaya Klang.

Here is another success story from my friend Shane Andres from Australia.

I’m incredibly indebted to you for my new 7 front teeth.
After 7yrs I can finally safely smile and grin profusely.
For the mere cost Of $1,600 for 3 root canals at the Bangkok hospital in Pattaya and Tom at the Dental Loft, with a total cost of only $5,000.
Compared to quotes in Australia between $20k and $36k.
Only possible by your generous help.

Thanks David Herd.

It’s worth checking their promotional prices, ofter you can get a terrific rate to relocate one of their vehicles. In my case I rented for 6 days at $19 aud per day. Picked it up at Surfers Paradise & dropped it off at Sydney airport.

A great trip down the coast.

Certainly one of the world’s great coastlines.

The photos I like the best. 🙂

FiveStarVagabond favourite photos

FiveStarVagabond favourite photos taken over many years by me, David Herd. To many people they will be nothing special, however they are very special indeed to me. Sometimes it’s the image itself that appeals & other times it’s the memory of where I was at the time.

My boulevarde of broken dreams.

Every time you turn around there is another great photo opportunity.

Narrow lanes

Bellagio Lake Como Italy

I used to wonder why so many European towns & villages had such narrow streets & lanes. Then a friend of mine Riny Doyle, from Breil Sur Roya in the south of France, explained it was simple to control the temperature. Narrow lanes meant a much cooler environment, & lets face it in those ancient times there were no air conditioned shopping malls where you could get relief from the heat. 🙂

Building Terminal 21 Pattaya

New Pattaya Shopping Mall

Building Terminal 21 Pattaya

 Building Terminal 21 Pattaya

Building Terminal 21 Pattaya started in November 2015 when they started demolishing the shopping complex. That seemed to take the best part of a year before actual building commenced. Now they are really making progress as you will see from this photo blog.

It’s a huge site adjacent to the Dolphin roundabout  as you can see from the above photo.

A popular cafe

Building Terminal 21 Pattaya

I used to often have breakfast at this popular little Thai restaurant beside the Dolphin roundabout.

Above you see it, below you don’t. 🙂

Building Terminal 21 Pattaya

It’s a huge job pulling down this large building, it is taking months & months.

Slowly everything is coming apart

Escalators & elevators have already gone.

Here comes the heavy machinery

Now they are getting serious. 🙂

Beach Road Pattaya

Pastry Addiction Pattaya

Pastry Addiction Pattaya

Pastry Addiction Pattaya is located at the Mera Mare Hotel on Beach Rd next to the Hard Rock hotel. I have been walking past every morning since it opened early 2015 & never realised what a hidden gem it was.

Beautiful decor

Pastry Addiction Mera Mare Hotel Pattaya

Overlooking Beach Rd & Pattaya bay the decor is as good as anything in Pattaya.

Pastry Addiction Mera Mare Hotel Pattaya is a great choice for afternoon tea, lunch or dinner. It’s a touch on the expensive side & a glass of house wine is priced way over the top at B260.

Wine is too expensive.

Sadly B260 for a glass of house wine will probably stop me & many of my friends coming for dinner, hopefully management with see the light and offer house wine at around B150.
