Patrick’s Belgian Steakhouse Pattaya

Renovated May 2018

Patrick’s Belgian Steakhouse Pattaya

Patrick's Belgian Steakhouse Pattaya

Patrick’s Belgian Steakhouse Pattaya is certainly one of my favourite restaurants. TripAdvisor rating is #22 of 1,025 Restaurants in Pattaya, however in my opinion it is in the top 10.

Perhaps a salad to start with.

Lots of choices at Patrick’s Belgian Steakhouse Pattaya.

The photo does not do it justice.

The Oxtail soup is fantastic, I often drop in and have it for lunch, followed by a waffle of course. 🙂

Of course I sometime have the pancake instead of the waffle. 🙂

They are both delicious.

Dining with my friend Hamish & my brother Warren in May 2018 just after the renovation was completed.

The Tuesday night special.

Patrick's Belgian Steakhouse Pattaya

Without a doubt they serve the best lamb shank in Pattaya, perhaps even the northern hemisphere.

The new decor is attractive & modern. This was at 6.30 pm & I was the only customer. 🙂

In case you were wondering, here’s Patrick.

He used to be a parachuter, now he is a biker. 🙂

Early May 2018 they gutted the restaurant.

The finished product is excellent.

Here we are at the old restaurant.

I’m with Greg Clee & Hamish Elton celebrating Hamish’s birthday in 2015. Notice the old fashioned decor?

Can you believe the size of this Tomahawk? 🙂

Patrick’s Belgian Steakhouse Pattaya

A whopping 1.5 kilo, I think Hamish could handle it. 🙂

A terrific dinner with friends.

August 31st 2018, 3 Aussies, a Belgium & a Yankee.

Good food & nice people.

From the left we have Dan Escamilla, Hamish Elton, David Herd, Sally Schmidt & Wayne Schmidt.

Another Tuesday night dinner

Patrick's Belgian Steakhouse Pattaya

Half the table ordered the lamb shank. 🙂 From the right we have David Rose, Brendan Tate, Jessica, Hamish Elton, David Herd, Dan Escamilla & last but not least Possum. 🙂

That is a great looking slab of beef.

Patrick’s Belgian Steakhouse Pattaya

You would need a huge appetite to get through that. 🙂

Irish stew was exceptional on October 21 2020

Patrick’s Belgian Steakhouse Pattaya

Great value at B250 or $8 USD.

Location

Patrick’s Belgian Steakhouse Pattaya

Opposite Mike shopping mall in an arcade opposite the Beefeater.

One final look at the Tuesday special.

Patrick's Belgian Steakhouse Pattaya

Lamb shank (French style) & potato au gratin. I only have one criticism of this fine restaurant, the house wine is far too expensive. Everything else is excellent, many thanks for visiting my Patrick’s Belgian Steakhouse Pattaya photo blog.

Patrick discovers El Mercado

Here is what Patrick had to say about El Mercado; “Didn’t know where to eat tonight in Bangkok so I asked my good friend David Herd who is an expert in Bangkok restaurants. He suggested El Mercado. Wow, what a surprise. Never saw anything like that in Thailand. All those choices of cheeses, cold cuts, seafood and fish. Many wines as well, but a bit on the expensive side. I enjoyed a mixed platter with cheeses and cold cuts, my wife went for the oysters and seafood dish. All in all a success and very enjoyable. Book in advance, packed all the time. Worth a visit when in Bangkok.”😉😎

My history, particularly over the last 30 years is dominated by overseas travel. I sold my home in Australia October 20th 2011 and have have been living in Thailand since then. I don’t know where the time has gone? It seems like you go to sleep one night, wake up the next morning, and 20 years have flashed by. Not sure how many years I have left, however I have enjoyed a wonderful charmed life, and if it all ended today I would leave this world with no regrets. I was born in Sydney halfway through the last century, started my travels in the 60s with the usual U.K. Europe adventure at the age of 20, back to Australia and worked in Sydney, Melbourne & Adelaide in Sales & Marketing with multinational companies including Sanyo, Canon & Remington. Engaged to be married 3 times and never quite made it to the alter, finally realized by the mid 90s I was not cut out for "long term relationships" so I moved to the Gold Coast in Queensland in January 1987, worked for a couple of banks as a Financial Planner, I took a year off work in 1998 to travel and never went back to full time work again, after 25 fun filled years on the Coast I packed up and moved to Thailand. What is the purpose of this blog? Well I really want to use it to record my travel experiences & to display my photographs, give and receive travel tips, comment on places I visit, restaurants I eat in and use it to replace the autobiography I intended to write, apart from all that it helps me fill in my day. :) I moved to Thailand mainly because I wanted to keep travelling while my health allowed me to, there are huge advantages being closer to all the places I want to visit. Cost of living in Thailand is around 35% of the cost in Australia, plus flights are 50% cheaper because you are much closer to everywhere. ???? Consequently I am able to travel to many more places compared to living in Australia. Having said all that, it is & has always been my intention to return to Australia when my travelling is finished, I predict this will happen around 2021.
