Cherry Bar babes Pattaya

c80b92ad-d818-458f-8ca3-b3f98ac65f09

Cherry Bar babes Pattaya, I have been studying them closely for over a decade. This bar on the corner of 2nd Rd & Soi 3 Pattaya has been my local watering hole since 2003.

And so this is Xmas

Sexy Cherry Bar babes Pattaya I have been living in Pattaya since October 2011 but I have been coming here for 34 years. Nothing stays the same & neither does the Cherry Bar, over the years there have been some incredibly beautiful girls pass through here. Sadly not as many in 2015. 🙂

Why do I like it so much?

Sexy Cherry Bar babes Pattaya Well apart from the many beautiful girls that have passed through there, being on a busy corner allows me to watch the passing parade while enjoying an evening drink. At the other end of this complex is another very good bar which has just become 50% larger, the Atlantic Bar.

View from The Cherry Bar

This was the view from where I sit about 3 years ago, it’s not quite as good now as you will see further on.

OK, back to the sexy girls

Flashback to 2003, the first year I started drinking at the Cherry Bar. One of the many sexy Cherry Bar girls.

Sexy Cherry Bar babes Pattaya  Mai is a sweet girl who gave up her job a a Honda sales person in Bangkok to work at the Cherry Bar, she has since moved across the road to Honey 2, the soapy massage parlor. Oay on the other hand is a tall glamorous high maintenance girl who is never without a Farang throwing money at her.

Oay is certainly a knockout

Last I heard she found a sponsor and quit the bar scene.

On November 6th all charges were dropped and Joergen flew to Pattaya for a couple of weeks before heading home to Melbourne on December 10. He is a very lucky man.

July 2003 , Jan became my favourite girl.

Over the next seven years Jan was my number one favourite girl, so beautiful with a smile to die for. When I talk about Sexy Cherry Bar girls, Jan was the best.

I’m betting raising 3 children is not as much fun as working at the Cherry bar. 🙂

RIP Om.

I wanted to hang this on the wall at the Cherry bar in memory of Om, but because of Thai tradition & culture they would not let me.

Dressing up for Loi Krathong

Loi Krathong

Loi Krathong is a festival celebrated annually throughout Thailand and certain parts of Laos and Burma (in Shan State). The name could be translated as “to float a basket”, and comes from the tradition of making krathong or buoyant, decorated baskets, which are then floated on a river. Loi Krathong takes place on the evening of the full moon of the 12th month in the traditional Thai lunar calendar. In the western calendar this usually falls in November. On the night of the full moon, Thais launch their krathong on a river, canal or a pond, making a wish as they do so. The festival may originate from an ancient ritual paying respect to the water spirits.   Government offices, corporations and other organizations bring large decorated krathongs. There are competitions for the best such krathong. A beauty contest is a regular feature and fireworks have become common in recent years.

Street cooking at its best

Low cost Pattaya restaurants

November 21, 2021 by David Herd

Great value at Foodland

Best cheap Pattaya restaurants

Low cost Pattaya restaurants, there are hundreds of them. Lets start with Foodland, a well known supermarket chain in Thailand, in each store you will find an excellent fast food counter. The quality is excellent, the food is always fresh because of the turnover, (it is always crowded) and the price is so cheap, for instance breakfast is about $2, and lunch under $3.

Central Festival food hall

Best cheap Pattaya restaurants

Located in the basement of Pattaya’s most luxurious shopping mall is the food hall. A very cheap fast selection of good food. Always crowded because of the excellent value.

Mango & sticky rice

Best cheap Pattaya restaurants

The food hall at Central Festival shopping mall has a great selection of deserts including a Thai specialty, mango & sticky rice. Yesterday I ordered this after my roast duck with vegetables & steamed rice, including a clear soup for a total cost of 280 Baht or $2.50.

KFC at Central Festival.

Best cheap Pattaya restaurants

I would not normally mention a fast food outlet in my post, however there are exceptions. KFC without a doubt have one of the best views in Pattaya, so while the kids devour their chicken nuggets etc, sit there and soak up the view.

 Beer Garden near Walking St

Best cheap Pattaya restaurants

The Beer Garden offers good low cost food with a wonderful view of Pattaya Bay, a great spot to dine before hitting the bright lights of Walking Street. To find the entrance you must walk past all the bars near the kick boxing. Like most Thai restaurants the menu is a huge selection of western or Thai food.

Dining in a car park.

Best cheap Pattaya restaurants

photo Carpark2.jpgGreat value Thai food here, average cost for dinner or lunch 200 Baht or $6. Next to theAlcazar carpark in 2nd road North Pattaya, opposite Soi 4, if you see a tall beautiful Thai woman here I can guarantee it is a ladyboy.

Agoda is a great place to book your Pattaya hotel.

Oishi Ramen low cost Japanese.

Best Pattaya Japanese restaurants

Oishi Ramen is another chain of very low cost Japanese & Thai food, I have lunch at least twice a week at the Big C mall on 2nd road north Pattaya. The Salmon and salad shown above with bottomless Green Tea costs 220 Baht or $7 usd, great value. More information about Oishi click here.

Oishi Japanese Buffet Restaurant

Best Pattaya Japanese restaurants

The buffet is excellent value at around 400 Baht or $14, eat as much as you want. I don’t rate the food as highly as Fuji however you can’t beat the value.

Mae Sri Ruen

Low cost Pattaya restaurants

Mae Sri Ruen is right next door to Central Festival on Beach Rd and serves good fresh Thai food at very low prices. The BBQ pork & dumpling soup is one of my favorites, add spring rolls and the price is 120 Baht or a touch over $4.

Queen Victoria Pub

Queen Victoria pub Pattaya

Located on Soi 6 featuring an excellent breakfast at B99, or $4 AUD.

Hungry Hippo best value in Pattaya

Hungry Hippo Soi Buakhao

The chowder was so good I had it home delivered. 🙂 Check out THIS LINK.

Lunch September 4 2021

Hungry Hippo Soi Buakhao

I ordered this ice-cream sunday & was suprised when the waitress said, “today it is on special at B39”. 🙂

The avocado is my favourite at Mathilda in 2nd Rd.

Last time I had lunch there sadly there was was no avocado.

Leckerle is a German Restaurant

Two days Bangkok

November 6, 2021 by David Herd

Two days Bangkok

Two days Bangkok

Two days Bangkok seemed like a week because of all the walking I did, over 20,000 steps in 48 hours. By the time I got home to Pattaya I was desperate for a foot & leg massage. 🙂 My hotel was in a graet location, only 50 meters to Chit Lom sky train.

Nice room

Two days Bangkok

Great value at a low cost of B1100 pn, or $45 AUD.

An added bonus

Two days Bangkok

A very nice view from my room. For a terrific room rate just book through THIS LINK.

And always something to photograph. 🙂

My favourite bangkok restaurant

El Mercado Bangkok 2021

This is one of 3 El Mercado branches, for more photos please follow THIS LINK.

Oysters from France

Low cost food Bangkok

Here is the main reason I love to dine at El Mercado. Beautiful Fine de Clare No 3 at B886 or $36 AUD, quite a good price for Bangkok, although I get them for $23 at L’Auberge in Pattaya. These were Fine de Clare No 3.

The Fines de Claires Oysters are exclusively produced in the Marennes-Oléron basin in France. They have an elongated shell which makes them easily recognizable.

The Fines de Claires Oysters are less fleshy than normal oysters and have a softer-coloured flesh. The Fines de Claires Oysters are rich in water and have a stronger, slightly sweeter taste thanks to the « affinage” made in ponds connected to seawater during the last weeks of the farming.

Aussie Expat Pattaya Thailand

Aussie Expat Pattaya

Aussie Expat Pattaya

Aussie Expat Pattaya Thailand, my 10th year living the dream, life is very easy here & costs me around 40% compared with living in Australia. People often ask about the life here so I thought I would put some details together, at the end of the day a picture is worth a thousand words. 🙂 The photo above is the view from my condo, I’m on the 20th floor of Markland which is one the corner of Beach Rd & Soi 1. I was paying B18,000 pm currently the rent has been discounted to B15,000 due to Covid 19.  This equals $625 AUD.

There will be lots of links in this post for you to follow to other blogs.

Aussie friends at Terminal 21

Aussie Expat Pattaya

Shane, Bill & Greg all came over for dental work, you pay about 1/2 of what you would in Australia. In November 2019 one of these guys had these procedures, 1 x Implant – 1 x Root canal – 2 x removals and a complete clean which took 2 hours’ worth of grinding, price B55,000 or $2,640 AUD.  He says the average price in Sydney for an implant ranges between $3,500 – $5,000.

Check out Terminal 21 on THIS LINK.

Art of desert

Many people in these troubled times of Covid-19 will feel they are living in their own winter of discontent, well to brighten up their day just check out some of my favourite deserts in beautiful downtown Pattaya. 🙂

Great pancake at Leckerle

Art of desert

Researchers have found pancakes in the stomach of Otzi the Iceman, human remains dating back 5,300 years. In ancient Greece and Rome, pancakes were made from wheat flour, olive oil, honey, and curdled milk.

Magnificent Crème brûlée

Art of desert

France, England, and Spain all claim to be the country where crème brûlée had its origin. The first printed recipe for a dessert called crème brûlée is from the 1691.

A special from The Bistro at Soi Yamato 13/1.

Art of desert Tripadvisor rate this small restaurant very highly at #6 of 1,085 Restaurants in Pattaya

Mixture from the Mantra

Art of desert

Sadly the Mantra closed it’s doors in 2018, their Sunday buffet was the best I have ever seen anywhere in the world. Here is over a decade of dining on THIS LINK.

Mango & sticky rice

Art of desert

The iconic Thai desert needs no introduction, it’s simply wonderful.

Hollys Coffee

Art of desert

Without a doubt this is the best pancake I have ever eaten. 🙂 This company was established in 1998 and opened Korea’s first espresso shop that year. Its shops offer espresso, coffee, tea, specialty coffee- and tea-based hot and cold drinks, a variety of pastries and other snacks and coffee supplies.

Banana pancake

Art of desert Pattaya Absolutely delicious & only B40, or $2 AUD.

The finished product

Art of desert Pattaya Surely must be the best value in Pattaya, or perhaps even the northern hemisphere.

Thanks for visiting my Art of desert Pattaya photo blog, I will certainly add more delights as I discover them.

Longhorn Steakhouse Pattaya

July 8, 2020 by David Herd

Longhorn Steakhouse Pattaya

Longhorn Steakhouse Pattaya

Longhorn Steakhouse Pattaya is located in the arcade off 2nd road opposite Mike shopping mall. In the same arcade you will find Patrick’s & the Beefeater.

A table or a booth sir?

Longhorn Steakhouse Pattaya

Plenty of space between the tables. 🙂

Walking Street

Longhorn Steakhouse Pattaya

This is dated 1960, however it should show 1980, the reason is I actually took the photo on my first visit to Pattaya.

The original photo

That’s my friend Rob Symonds walking towards the camera. We have visited Manila & Hong Kong on the way to Thailand. Follow THIS LINK for more 1980 photos.

July promotion was exceptional value.

Longhorn Steakhouse PattayaB595 or $19 USD.

Lobster Bisque to begin

Longhorn Steakhouse Pattaya

It tasted as good as it looks. 🙂

Australian Ribeye

Steakhouse Pattaya

At Longhorn Steakhouse Pattaya this Australian Ribeye was extremely tender & tasty.

Guess who was celebrating his birthday?

Longhorn Steakhouse PattayaGuilty as charged. 🙂

Creme Brulee is a favourite of mine.

Longhorn Steakhouse Pattaya

It was a toss up between this & the Tiramisu. Creme Brulee is a dessert consisting of a rich custard base topped with a texturally contrasting layer of hardened caramelized sugar. It is normally served slightly chilled; the heat from the caramelizing process tends to warm the top of the custard, while leaving the center cool. The custard base is traditionally flavored with vanilla in French cuisine or with cinnamon and lemon in Catalan cuisine, but can have other flavorings. It is sometimes garnished with fruit.

Toast Skagen, one of my all time favorites.

Longhorn Steakhouse

The Beefeater also offers Skagen. Toast Skagen is an appetizer and Swedish food. Consisting of two slices of toast, mayonnaise and many prawns. Sometimes crabs are used instead of shrimp. The name of the dish originated from Skagen in Denmark, but the dish is not very well-known and most popular in Sweden, which was created by the restaurant and chef from Stockholm Tore Wretman. He introduced the Toast Skagen … Wikipedia

Australian Shiraz

Longhorn Steakhouse Pattaya Tonight I chose to take my own wine as it was a special occasion, the corkage fee is B300, or $9 USD.

Tiramisu

Longhorn Steakhouse Pattaya Very rich, I prefer the Creme Brulee.

Beefeater Steak House Pattaya

March 21, 2020 by David Herd

Beefeater Steak House Pattaya

Beefeater Steak House Pattaya

Beefeater Steak House Pattaya is ranked by TripAdvisor number 40 of 1340 restaurants in Pattaya. Every Sunday they have a Mexican “all you can eat” buffet. Another excellent feature here is they offer 3 sizes of the steak of your choice.

My friend Larry Krausz

Beefeater Steak House Pattaya Larry loved his food & really enjoyed visiting the Beefeater, sadly he suffered a major stroke & passed away in 2017.

Toast Skagen

Beefeater Steak House Pattaya Here is the dish I always have at the Beefeater, the owner/chey is Scandinavian so I guess that’s why Skagen is on the menu.

Toast Skagen – Shrimps in dill mayonnaise served on toast

Ham & salad baguette

Beefeater Steak House PattayaThe Beefeater Steak House Pattaya offers so much more than just steak, the baguette is excellent as is the Lobster bisque.

Talking about the Lobster Bisque

Beefeater Steak House PattayaVery rich as you can imagine.

Prices seem to be creeping up

Beefeater Steak House PattayaIt’s now 2021 in the middle of the Covid crisis & most venues seem to be lowering prices or offering specials, however not here I’m afraid.

For anyone with a sweet tooth. 🙂

Beefeater Steak House Pattaya A classic banana split to finish off an excellent meal.

Apple Pie

Beefeater Steak House Pattaya Homemade apple crumble pie with custard and vanilla ice cream, absolutely delicious.

Beefeater Steak House Pattaya

Beefeater Steak House Pattaya A well stocked bar for you to choose from.

Pattaya storm water solution

March 11, 2020 by David Herd

Pattaya storm water solution

Pattaya storm water solutionPattaya storm water solution involves digging up part of Beach road and laying a 2 meter pipe underground to stop the storm water flooding the road & footpath.

Huge drain pipe

Pattaya storm water solution Lets hope this strategy works, the current system has never been able to handle the huge volume of water from storms in the wet season. It is not just the water that falls on Beach Rd, most of the Soi’s in North Pattaya run down hill from 2nd Road bringing a huge volume of water that runs over the footpath and destroys huge sections of the beach.

Here’s what happens to the beach

Pattaya storm water solution This has been the case for many years. For more storm damage just follow THIS LINK.

Here is a video of the flooding

Beach Rd Pattaya flooded, more water than Songkran.

That’s a lot of water right there.

They are sparing no expense on equipment

Pattaya storm water solution It’s a very noisy disruptive project, let’s hope it works.

No problem on the footpath

Pattaya storm water solution All the disruption is on the actual road, traffic of course move very slowing with on one or two lanes to use.

Near Soi one

Pattaya storm water solution I must give them credit, they are making good progress.

Pattaya storm water solution

Pattaya storm water solution Trucks and excavators all along Beach Road.

This footpath is going to need some work. 🙂

Pattaya storm water solution It’s now March 2023 & I think we are in for another 6 months of pain before this project is completed. Having said that I really believe the workers are doing a great job & as fast as possible.

Opposite Markland Soi 1 March 15

Pattaya storm water solution Progress is being made.

Pristine equipment

Pattaya storm water solution This fabulous gizmo is probably only 30 years old. 🙂

Finally the steamroller arrives

Pattaya storm water solution This one will leave you rather flat. Steam, what steam? I don’t see any steam. 🙂

Pattaya storm water solution

I’m guessing it will take another 6 months to level up & re-fit all the pavers.
