Flow Cafe Holiday Inn Pattaya is my usual venue for afternoon coffee, only a 150 meter walk from my condo at Markland in Beach Rd. The shot above is the hotel reception, turn left to fond the Flow Cafe Holiday Inn.

Terrific cakes & pastries.

Also meat pies, sandwiches & sausage rolls, and excellent coffee of course.

So many choices….

And such little time. 🙂

My favourite waitress

This lovely lady with the gorgeous smile is Opor, that’s the shortened version of her name, she always makes me a special coffee. 🙂

Opor takes great pride in her work. 🙂

Luckily I get a 25% discount.

For a small cost you can get a “Hi Club” Card which gives you the discount on food & beverage except for the specials.

Fuji Japanese Restaurant returns

Fuji Japanese Restaurant returns to Central Marina shopping mall in Pattaya. It has not operated there since before the major renovations took place in 2017. The food is still a very high standard however I think the prices may have risen slightly. 🙂

Super decor

Excellent staff as usual, plus the food is top quality & reasonably priced.

Red hot opening special

Only 240 Baht or $7.80 USD including a miso soup.

The old favourites are still on the menu.

Central Marina is only 5 minutes walk from my apartment, & 2 minutes from the Atlantic Bar, so I dine there 4 or 5 times a week. There are several excellent Japanese restaurants apart from Fuji, in particular I recommend Miyayzaki.

California Roll

Certainly one of my all time favourites at Fuji, I must say I love any dish that includes avocado. Please take a look at one of my Japanese blogs, in particular take note of the baked avocado.

A perfect combination

We are so lucky in Pattaya to have many very good Japanese restaurants.

Sadly now in December 2021 we are in the middle of the Covid-19 crisis & 50% of the outlets here at Central marina, the Food Park & Central Festival have closed. I really can’t see them re-opening until mid 2022.

Miyazaki Japanese Teppanyaki restaurant at Central Marina shopping mall serves excellent quality food at a very good price.

Small compact restaurant

I dine regularly at MK right next door to Miyazaki & have walked past dozens of times since the mall was rebuilt in 2017. However the food was such good value I won’t be walking past in the future. 🙂

Miyazaki Japanese Teppanyaki restaurant

I ordered the special set of NZ beef, vegetables, miso soup & rice at a low price of B280 or $11.70 AUD.

Loved the vegetables & the Miso soup

There is no doubt I will be a regular here. Although in Pattaya we do have many very good Japanese restaurants.

NZ beef was fabulous

Rare, juicy & tender, cooked to perfection. 🙂

I can’t believe how lucky we are living in Pattaya with so many great places to eat, every possible cuisine & price range, from five star hotels to street food. Since Terminal 21 opened on October 19 2018 Central Marina has lost half it’s customers, I do feel sorry for their loss of business, on the other had it’s much quieter & more peaceful.

Friday night at 8 pm.

Only 2 other customers apart from myself.

Teriyaki chicken is my favourite

Omeros Gold Coast Restaurant has been a favourite of mine for around 30 years from back when it was known as the Paragon. A fabulous on the Broadwater looking towards Southport.

I usually sit inside with the air conditioning. 🙂

However if I’m dining with a noisy mob outside is better. 🙂

Lunch with friends

Ross & Mariana Kennedy are legends in their own lunchtime. They now live 5 minutes away at Paradise Waters.

A couple of drinks at the bar first is a good idea.

Perhaps a New Zealand Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough.

Omeros Gold Coast Restaurant, inside is a little more formal.

Ok, I guess it’s time to show you some food. 🙂

Genki Pattaya Japanese Restaurant located in Soi 4 North Pattaya is one of my favourite Japanese restaurants in Pattaya. Lucky for me it’s only a short 5 minute walk from my condo. 🙂

Outdoor seating

Outdoor seating plus a private room for around 16 people.

Rarely do you see a Farang here.

Customers are mainly Japanese, rarely do you see a Farang. (Foreigner)

Gyoza comes fried or steamed

Priced at B90 or $4.00 AUD.

My Australian friend Viv Kennelly

Like myself Viv really enjoys his food.

Salmon Caviar

One of my favourite dishes at B300 or $14.50 AUD.

Same dish as above.

Probably prepared by a different chef. Both come with the sheets of seaweed to make a delicious sandwich.

The omelet is so light it melts in your mouth. 🙂

This guy was the boss.

I believe he has gone back to Japan & the standard seems to have dropped slightly.

I’m not to keen on prawn heads in my miso soup.

Oh well I guess it improves the flavour. 🙂

Here is a funny story, Matt runs a factory in the motor industry with 60 or 70 staff, naturally he is on a very good wage. The clincher is however, on top of his wage he gets a hardship allowance for living in Pattaya. 🙂 🙂 🙂

Excellent Beachside Restaurant

Excellent Beachside Pattaya Restaurant offers good food in a great seaside location on Wongamat beach. There’s a huge menu & my only complaint is the wine cost, like many other Pattaya restaurants they do not offer a glass of house wine for between B120 & B150. This oversight certainly costs them customers.

What a fabulous view

I prefer lunch over dinner for two reasons, the fabulous view & I find the wine far too expensive at night.

As you can see the beer prices are fine.

My seafood pasta was very good indeed.

Scallop Mornay was excellent.

By now you probably realize why this is a favorite Excellent Beachside Pattaya Restaurant.

Spinach soup, what a great color.

Often a soup & a selection of entrees suits me better than a large main meal.

TripAdvisor rate Surf & Turf 111 out of 870 restaurants in Pattaya. I’m a little surprised there are only 870, I really thought there were more. On another subject I have never been a fan of food served on wooden plates, I just wonder whether are are as hygienic as normal plates?

Mum Aroi Pattaya Seafood Restaurant is on the waterfront in Naklua. At low tide the view is not very attractive & the restaurant itself resembles a large barn. Put all that aside & just enjoy the fabulous fresh seafood & quick efficient service.

A big tin shed

The customers who regularly eat here would be 95% Thai, mainly because tourists would never walk past or hear about it.

Either catch a Baht bus from the Dolphin roundabout or just hire a taxi. Believe me it’s worth the effort.

What about the food you ask?

Fresh, reasonably priced & lots to choose from.

Delicious, in Australia we call them pippies.

Prawns cooked to perfection

Fresh & cooked to perfection.

Why are they are so fresh?

Shortly before they arrive at your table they are happily swimming around without a care in the world. 🙂

Salted fish, a Thai specialty.

Thai’s have mastered salted fish, one of their many terrific dishes.

Being an amateur camera enthusiast I’m more than happy with the low tide mudflats of Naklua, it provides so many more photo opportunities.

Pirate Chambre Excellent Bangkok Restaurant at Chit Lom, a little hard to find the restaurant’s entrance located on the 3rd floor of the Maneeya Centre building, which directly links to BTS Chit Lom at the Siam end.

Walk down the narrow stairs & through the bar into the beautiful restaurant.

Excellent decor

I really like the fact the tables are not too close together which certainly improves the atmosphere.

Baked seafood entree

This tasty dish is prepared and served in a traditional snail serving tray.

This is a superb dish beautiful served

This superb entree featured morsels of French mussels, clams & prawns, flavoured & baked with herb butter, cheddar, Parmesan cheese and breadcrumbs.

If you lean closer to the screen I’m sure you will be able to smell the garlic. 🙂

An important message

This really is the best advice I can give you. 🙂

Beef Ribs

Another dish cooked perfectly was the bone-in braised beef short rib in red wine sauce (750 baht), slow-cooked until the meat became soft and fell off the bone, yet still retained a pleasant chewy texture. Notice the packet of baked garlic which was very tasty indeed.

A choice of vegetables

Choose the vegetables that you prefer with your ribs.

The slow cooked lamb shank is absolutely delicious.

Anyone for cake?

It would not be a proper Italian restaurant without cake. 🙂

The Royal Pavilion is a former royal residence. It was built in three stages, beginning in 1787, as a seaside retreat for George, Prince of Wales, who became the Prince Regent in 1811.

It’s no secret, I love fresh oysters.

The New Madeira hotel is in a great location across the road from the Brighton Pier, only 40 Quid per night for a single room, the walls are a little thin so the rooms can be a little noisy, but the price is right as is the location. If you want something more upmarket choose the Holiday Inn.

Great Pattaya German Restaurant

Great Pattaya German Restaurant located in Soi 33 off naklua Rd just north of the Dolphin roundabout. It’s one of many very good restaurants in the lively busy Soi.

Two sections

The outoor & open area as you can see in the photo plus the air conditioned bakery in the first photo which is where I prefer to eat.

Lets talk about the food

It is such good value for the excellent quality. I guessing 80% of the customers are German, in fact the Naklua area is where they prefer to live.

Lots of healthy entres

Leckerle have a large menu to choose from, all dishes are reasonably priced.

However this one is my favourite

Pea soup with German sausage. The good news is that it’s the best I have ever tasted, the bad news is it is rather filling and I have to settle for a small 2nd course. 🙂

Everyone loves the soup

Here is my good friend from Australia Geoff Robinson & his Thai lady Nana, they agree with me that Leckerle is great value.

The big guy Viv Kennelly is another friend from Australia, I introduced hiom & his friends to Leckerle in February 2017 & they likes it so much they returned the following evening. 🙂

Plus another bomus is they always seem to play very good background music from the 80s & 90s.

Hamish & I attack the Pork Knuckle

My friend Hamish Elton also loves his food & remarked the knucle was one of the best he has eaten in Pattaya.

You have to be pretty good on the fang to get through this one. 🙂

Even super tooth Ray Ebzery was a little overwhelmed.

To his credit he bravely battled through it. 🙂

Another excellent dish, Kasseler & Sauerkraut

Tender pork & sauerkraut. Kasseler in German cuisine is the name given to a salted (cured) and slightly smoked cut of pork similar to British gammon.

How many calories here?

Far too many to worry about, this pancake is sooooo good. 🙂
