Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand

January 10, 2017 by David Herd

Pattaya bar districts, Soi 7 & Soi 8

Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand are everywhere in the city, many tourists who visit think Walking Street is the only entertainment area, however they couldn’t be more wrong. This post is designed to show you some other areas where you can find some good bars, from back street down & dirty beer bars to up market sky bars.

Soi 7 & Soi 8 run between Beach Rd & 2nd Rd, the photo shows the always busy Lucky Star bar on the Beach Rd corner of Soi 8. Always plenty of action in these two streets, lots of bars, restaurants & hotels.

Location Soi 6 to Soi 8

Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand

Jump on a Baht bus at 2nd Rd for a 5 minute trip, cost B10.

Soi 6 Pattaya’s raunchiest street

Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand Don’t be fooled this is quite a distance from Soi 6, & happens to have perhaps the worst reputation in the city, this alone makes a visit compulsory. 🙂

Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand          Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand          Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand

A word of caution to first time visitors, there are quite a few LadyBoys working in this street. 🙂

Billabong 2 & Atlantic Bar Corner of Soi 3 & 2nd Rd.

Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand These two bars just happen to have been my local drinking holes for the last 15 years. Billabong was the Cherry bar until  it was taken over in 2016, I don’t go there much now because of a particularly rude cashier who does not know how to treat regular customers properly. Consequently Atlantic Bar is collecting all my spare cash, the staff are much friendlier as well.

Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand           photo Atlantic.jpg          Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand

The Atlantic Bar opens at 6 pm until very late and is opposite Central Marina shopping mall.

Billabong 2 formally the Cherry Bar.

Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand On the corner of Soi 3 & 2nd Rd, they have a good band that starts playing at 9 pm.

Soi 6 to the Atlantic Bar & Drinking St.

Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand

We are currently focusing on North Pattaya & will check out Walking St & LK Metro later.

Drinking Street

Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand  There are around 25 bars here & these days in 2017 most of the time they seem fairly quiet. Then again I’m rarely out late at night so things may well kick on around midnight.

Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand          Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand           Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand

One very good idea in place here is that all bars play the same music rather than compete with each other as most other Pattaya bars seem to do.

From Drinking St to Soi 29 & 33 Naklua,

Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand

This area is very lively at night.

Soi 33 Naklua is a very good street

Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand

Further north through the Dolphin roundabout & 150 meters along is Soi 33. There are a few good beer bars but the big attraction for me are some excellent restaurants, Leckerle on the right is German, Grottino also on the right and Bella Italia opposite.

24 Beer bars Naklua Rd

Wongamat beach-side bars

Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand

One bar is lay back & casual, & one is upmarket & classy.

 Rim Talay

Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand A perfect spot to enjoy a cold beer or two by the beach.

Perhaps you want to go a little more upmarket?

photo Beach20Club20Pullman20Hotel2014.jpg The Beach Club at the Pullman Hotel is arguably the classiest bar in Pattaya. Happy hour is 5 to 7 pm on a good selection of beer cocktails & wine.

For an excellent room rate at the Pullman just book through THIS LINK.

Western style bars on Beach Road

Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand Staring in North Pattaya we have Tavern By the Sea which is part of the Amari Hotel. Happy hour every night from 5 to 7 pm.

Holiday Inn

Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand

The Terrace overlooks the ocean & the adjacent Havana Bar is quite spectacular.

 Western bars on Beach Rd

Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand

Perfect for watching the fabulous Pattaya sunsets.

Lots of beer & babes at Hooters

Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand As you would expect there is cold beer & American food served by sexy girls.

Three Pattaya sky bars starting with the Hilton

Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand Wonderful view of Pattaya for the roof, happy hour is 5 to 7 pm every day.

Executive tower Holiday Inn.

Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand The building on the right is the executive tower with the sky bar on the top floor.

Holiday Inn

Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand They also have a 5 pm happy hour however I think it is only for cocktails.

Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand This hotel has a terrific unique decor.

Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand A stunning view of Pattaya.

Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand

Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand

Follow the dotted line to find lots of good bars, LK Metro  & Soi Buakhao is where the locals go to drink. They tend to leave Walking St to the tourists. LK Metro is the L shape street where i-Rovers is.

LK Metro is jammed packed with bars.

Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand One of the busiest bars areas in Pattaya.

Kåres Party Bar

Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand There is no better happy hour in Pattaya for beer drinkers.

Sportman’s pub Soi 13

Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand On of Pattaya’s most popular pubs, food is excellent. This is one of my favourite places for breakfast & Sunday buffet lunch.

Walking Street

Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand Walking St as an attraction compares favourably to many other infamous world red light  areas. Patpong, Nana Plaza & Soi Cowboy in Bangkok, the RLD in Amsterdam, the Reeperbahn in Hamburg, Kabukichō in Tokyo, 42 nd St New York,  Vila Mimosa in Rio De Janeiro & Kings Cross in Sydney. Sadly all of these areas I have visited at some stage in my life. 🙂

What’s the attraction of Walking St?

 photo Image 4.jpg

Oh! I get it. 🙂

Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand             Happy hour in Walking St photo WalkingSt009.jpg                Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand

There are hundreds of go go bars, beer bars, strip shows & restaurants. However my main purpose for publishing this Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand photo blog is to show you there are many other interesting places to visit in this vibrant city.

Thanks for visiting my Beer Bars Babes Pattaya Thailand photo blog

Battleship Island Nagasaki coal mine

November 16, 2016 by David Herd

Ferry to Battleship Island aka Gunkanjima

Battleship Island Nagasaki coal mine Battleship Island Nagasaki coal mine, has been abandoned since 1974. The real name is Hashima Island commonly known as Gunkanjima which translates to ‘Battleship Island’. The ferry trip takes just 45 minutes to reach the fascinating deserted island.

Battleship Island Nagasaki coal mine

Battleship Island Nagasaki coal mine

Here is our first glimpse of the “ghost island”, and yes it does look like a battleship. 🙂

Lookout or bird’s nest?

Battleship Island Nagasaki coal mine Not too sure what this little house was used for but it is a good spot for a lookout.

We are almost at the dock

Battleship Island Nagasaki coal mine Only a hundred meters to go before we leave the ferry for an hour to walk around the island.

OK, here we are at Battleship Island Nagasaki coal mine

Battleship Island Nagasaki coal mine We are all given a number in a plastic holder to wear around our neck, I guess they don’t want to leave anybody behind.

Crumbling walls & buildings

Battleship Island Nagasaki coal mine According to our guide the destruction of walls & building is totally due to the regular typhoons that have pounded the island over the last 40 years.

The power of a typhoon

Battleship Island Nagasaki coal mine It seems incredible that typhoons & storms can reduce concrete buildings to rubble.

Japanese guide

Battleship Island Nagasaki coal mine  Our guide was excellent and told us a lot about the history of Battleship Island Nagasaki coal mine. For instance, from 1887 the island was a very busy coal mining facility that employed thousands of workers. In 1959 there were over 5,200 people living on the 6.3 hectare of space which was Battleship Island, this in fact made it the most densely populated place per square meter on the planet.

The boys from Sydney

Battleship Island Nagasaki coal mine Doug & Waz are two lads from western Sydney I met on the ferry, we hooked up together & explored the island, then back in Nagasaki enjoyed many ice cold beers followed by an excellent Italian dinner.

 Aerial view of  Hashima Island

Battleship Island Nagasaki coal mine

This shot puts the island into perspective, credit to  Kntrty, Flickr Source: Supplied.

 Video of Battleship Island

My apologies for the wind noise.

 Happy tourists

Battleship Island Nagasaki coal mine  The island has been featured in several films and recently  being the inspiration for the villain’s lair in the James Bond movie Skyfall.

More boats approach the island

Battleship Island Nagasaki coal mine There seems to be a huge amount of tourists visiting the island, TripAdvisor rate it 3rd out of 242 things to do in Nagasaki.

The power of nature

Battleship Island Nagasaki coal mine It seems hard to believe typhoons can cause such devastation.

Battleship Island Nagasaki coal mine          Battleship Island Nagasaki coal mine          Battleship Island Nagasaki coal mine

So as you can imagine after the mine mine closed in 1974 sadly Hashima Island gradually was reduced to ruins.

Make sure you take this interesting tour.

David Herd Thailand The cost was 4,300 Yen & well worth the expense, here are the ferry details.

My hotel in Nagasaki was only a three minute walk to the station & a short tram ride to the ferry terminal. Rated highly by AGODA, book through THIS LINK for an excellent room rate with free WiFi.

Temples Shrines Fukuoka Kyushu Island

November 14, 2016 by David Herd

Tocho-ji temple in Hakata

Temples Shrines Fukuoka Kyushu Island Temples Shrines Fukuoka Kyushu Island, Tocho-ji was built by Kukai a Buddhist monk in the year 806. I have often said one of the great attractions of visiting Japan is the blend of old & new.

Street entrance

Temples Shrines Fukuoka Kyushu Island Here we are in the middle of a modern city exploring a temple which is 1210 years old and in beautiful condition.

Quite a stunning pagoda

Temples Shrines Fukuoka Kyushu Island It’s always difficult being an amateur & an atheist like myself when writing about religious buildings, shrines, temples & churches. One has to rely heavily on information from the internet.

The old & the new highlighted here

Temples Shrines Fukuoka Kyushu Island In the foreground the ancient rock statues with modern Fukuoka buildings in the back ground.

Please accept my apologies for not knowing what these statues actually mean.

Kushida Shrine

photo Kushida20Shrine201.jpg This is the entrance to Kushida Shrine, the shrine was founded in 757, an incredible 1259 years ago.

Let’s take a closer look

 photo Kushida Shrine 2.jpg

A closer look at the entrance to this wonderful ancient Japanese Shrine.

 Inside Kushida Shrine

photo Kushida20Shrine203.jpg There are a number of ancient artefacts housed in the shrine including anchor stones retrieved from the harbour that belonged to the Mongolian invasion fleets.  Some 15,000 Mongols under the command of Kubla Khan landed on Tsushima Island on October 5, 1274. Mongol forces subsequently landed in Hakata Bay on November 19, a short distance from Dazaifu, which in those days was the administrative capital of Kyūshū.

Wash hands at the entrance

photo Kushida20Shrine205.jpg Tradition dictates you wash when entering the shrine.

Wonderful ancient buildings

photo Kushida20Shrine2015.jpg Take note of the small yellow wall on the left, Hakata was destroyed by war about 400 years ago & this wall was built from the debris.

1000 year-old Gingko Tree

 photo Kushida20Ginkgo20tree201.jpg

People are told to improve relations between husband & wife they should both pray at the ancient tree.

Shimekake-inari Shrine

photo Kushida20Shrine2011.jpg  Located right behind Kushida Shrine the tori gate is the landmark of this shrine.

Kazariyama Float

 photo Kushida Shrine 18.jpg

Every July for the last 770 years the Hakata Gion Yamakasa festival is held on the 15th starting at 4.59 am. Many floats participate & as you see above one is enshrined at the Kushida Shrine.

Beautiful traditional dress

photo Kushida20Shrine2019.jpg Maybe I’m a little biased as red & white are the colours of my Australian football team. 🙂

It has been a total pleasure creating my Temples Shrines Fukuoka Kyushu Island photo blog, I have learnt so much about the history of Fukuoka. I hope you enjoy my story about this wonderful city. Naturally there is so much more, check out my other posts including Ohori Park, the Fukuoka Tower, the wonderful Yatai or “pop up” restaurants as I call them & finally the Fukuoka city photo blog.

Ohori Park Fukuoka Kyushu Island

Ohori Park Fukuoka Kyushu Island

Ohori Park Fukuoka Kyushu Island is one of the most popular attractions in this northern Kyushu city. There are 3 separate islands connected by stone bridges.

photo Ohori20Park202013.jpg Ohori park was built between 1926 and 1929, the design is similar to the famous West Lake in China.

Art in the park

photo Ohori20Park202015.jpg The tranquil atmosphere of Ohori park was highlighted for me by the number of artists sitting quietly capturing the beauty of their surrounds. One exception to this was a jolly fellow who continually sang rather loudly while he painted. 🙂

Fukuoka Kyushu Island Japan

November 12, 2016 by David Herd

Sushizanmai

Fukuoka Kyushu Island Japan Fukuoka Kyushu Island Japan was the sixth & last stop in my 2 week Shinkansen (Bullet train) adventure. I wasn’t sure what to expect of the city, but I’m glad to say I was very impressed. The Yatai (pop up restaurants) were excellent as was the Fukuoka Tower. I found some excellent restaurants including my favourite sushi franchise, Sushizanmai. To top it off my hotel was right next to Tenjin station which was a great location. I would certainly recomend the hotel Ascent, for a very good discount just book through THIS LINK.

Fabulous sushi

Fukuoka Kyushu Island Japan Sushizanmai never dissapoints, even though my favourite location is their Tsujiki branch I have also enjoyed Shinjuku & Osaka brances. My following video has been seen over 60,000 times on YouTube.

Bar Kitchen Fukuoka

Fukuoka Kyushu Island Japan Bar kitchen is 0nly a 4 minutes walk from my hotel this amazing bar is very impressive indeed. They stock about 1200 whiskeys & bourbon & the owner Tomoyuki Oka is very friendly and welcoming. I was drinking my normal Jack Daniel’s at 1200 yen a shot, this is about double what I pay in Thailand however the atmosphere more than made up for it.

Fukuoka Kyushu Island Japan

Fukuoka Kyushu Island Japan Here is Marilyn in her familiar pose, sixty two years ago, on 15 September, 1954, Marilyn Monroe stood on a subway grate in New York City wearing a little white dress and fought an upward breeze. The scene from the Seven Year Itch, went on to become one of the most iconic moments in movie history.

Specialising in Gyoza

Fukuoka Kyushu Island Japan Down a narrow winding staircase close to my hotel was a fabulous little restaurant serving excellent Gyoza, I went there on two occasions in 3 days. 🙂

Gyoza steamed or fried

Fukuoka Kyushu Island Japan Naturally I sampled both & leaned slightly toward the fried. Cost per plate about $6 aud.

Fukuoka Kyushu Island Japan One of my favourite Fukuoka photos, I’ve name it “Only the Lonely”.

 Yatai or sidewalk restaurants

Fukuoka Kyushu Island Japan Yatai Fukuoka sidewalk restaurants are really tiny “pop up” sidewalk restaurants that disappear by the morning.  There are around 150 Yatai all across the city, however most are in and around Tenjin and Nakasu.

Craving a change of cuisine

Fukuoka Kyushu Island Japan As much as I love Japanese food after 2 weeks I was craving a change. The fabulous pizza is a speciality at Gorm’s, part of a Danish restaurant chain, opened 2014 in Nagasaki & shortly after in Fukuoka.

Gorm’s is very stylish

Fukuoka Kyushu Island Japan I dined in the Nagasaki branch 3 days before & was disappointed in my risotto. My friends however both had pizzas one was the seafood & mozzarella pictured above. After  trying a piece of my friends I was hooked, it was sooo good. Consequently when I discovered they had a branch in Fukuoka I couldn’t wait to have a whole one to myself.

Ōhori Park

Fukuoka Kyushu Island Japan Ohori in Japanese means moat, thee large lake in the middle of the park was originally part of the moat system for the neighbouring Fukuoka Castle.

Canal City food court

photo Lunch at Canal City 5.jpg Canal City is a fairly average shopping mall with a number of restaurants in the basement, for lunch I chose some premium beef washed down with a cold beer.

Pattaya Parasailing every day

October 2, 2016 by David Herd

Every morning

Pattaya Parasailing every day  Pattaya Parasailing every day except for the few occasions the weather is so bad they have to cancel. Most of these tourists are from China, they pay for their holiday before leaving so a fair bit of the money never makes it to Thailand.

Organised chaos

Pattaya Parasailing every day

They buzz around like mosquitoes, personally I would not do this because I just don’t trust the Thai boat drivers.

 Coming in to land

Pattaya Parasailing every day

There are 4 or 5 of these barges located on the bay,  non-parasailers can also come out to the pontoon to watch the fun for a small cost.

One of the overpowered speed boats.

Pattaya Parasailing every day About 750 HP is a ridiculous waste of money, I’m guessing they are just showing off to their competitors. When I lived in Australia I had one Yamaha 200 HP powering my boat, that used to cost me about $25 aud per hour in fuel. So these guys are obviously making plenty to be able to justify these three huge engines.

Stuck on the sand.

Every which way but loose

Pattaya Parasailing every day

This was the name of the 1978 Clint Eastwood movie, the phrase reminds me of the speed boats in this photo, it seems to be total chaos. 🙂

Check out the crowd on the barge

Pattaya Parasailing every day All waiting for their turn to fly.

Flying high

Pattaya Parasailing every day The most popular attraction for tourists.

Chaotic & crazy Parasailing in Pattaya

 A storm is looming

Pattaya Parasailing every day The black clouds are coming across the bay but the tourists don’t seem to care.

Here it comes

Pattaya Parasailing every day There is no better sight than watching a storm roll in over Pattaya bay.

A beautiful rainbow over the bay

Pattaya Parasailing every day

After the rain in Pattaya there a beautiful day always follows.

Low tide

Pattaya Parasailing every day Quite a walk for the tourists to get to the boats when the tide is out.

Finally another busy day on the bay

Sabai Wing Soi 1 North Pattaya

Pattaya low cost budget hotels

Sabai Wing Soi 1, 3 swimming pools and nice rooms, 100 meters from BigC, great value at only $30 usd per night as of August 15. I live in the high-rise in the background, Markland. For a great room rate book here.

Things have changed for the better in 2017, the busses no longer drop off the tourists in Beach Rd so the footpath & beach is clear of a morning.

Chevron Island Surfers Paradise

August 18, 2016 by David Herd

Thomas Drive

Chevron Island Surfers Paradise Chevron Island Surfers Paradise is located between Surfers Paradise and Bundall, a nice village with a very good choice of restaurants and coffee shops. Tribecca pictured in the header of this blog is probably my favourite eating spot along with Frank’s seafood which is a traditional fish & chip shop.

Chevron Island Surfers Paradise

Chevron Island Surfers Paradise Cafe Alfons is a nice cafe for coffee or breakfast.

Bacon, eggs avocado.

Chevron Island Surfers Paradise Throw in a flat white or latte and cost comes to $21.

Chevron Island Surfers Paradise Have a haircut, buy a house then go upstairs for a soothing massage. 🙂

Tribeca is a hot new restaurant on Chevron Island

Chevron Island Surfers Paradise Excellent food and very good service, run by Brandon & Shannon Pollard.

Fu Manchu

photo Fumanchu.jpg Had lunch at this upmarket new two story restaurant, nice decor and good service but I have mixed feelings about the food.

Chevron Island Surfers Paradise          Chevron Island Surfers Paradise          Chevron Island Surfers Paradise

The wontons on the left were not to my liking, fried does not suit me, however the chicken skewers on the right were quite good. Overall the dishes on the menu seem a little expensive, of course I only tried two so it is rather hard to give a reasonable opinion. The Spanish waitress was delightful. 🙂

CHEVRON ISLAND SEAFOOD

Chevron Island Surfers Paradise My friend Frank operates this excellent fish and chip shop where I have been enjoying fresh seafood for years. Oysters, hamburgers and great prawns are also available. Grab a bottle of wine and a table on the footpath then enjoy the passing Chevron Island eye candy.

Adjacent to the traffic lights

Chevron Island Surfers Paradise Farewell from Chevron Island Surfers Paradise , here I am with my old friend Bryan Dart who totally upset me when he told me he had lost 8 kilo since I saw him 18 months ago. The problem is I think that’s how much I have put on. 🙂

Loving Pattaya life 2016 (B)

August 3, 2016 by David Herd

This is not a travel blog just my personal photo collection from the 2nd half of 2016.

Another birthday rolls around July 7.

Loving Pattaya life 2016 Loving Pattaya life 2016 has seen me spend all year here, the quietest travel year I have had this century. I over spent in the last 2 or 3 years so I thought I should pull my horns in. 🙂

I spent 5 days in Koh Samui in June, 2 weeks in Australia in August and a great trip to Japan in October.

Some of the usual suspects

Loving Pattaya life 2016 Greg, Hamish & John helped me celebrate at the Mantra.

Loving Pattaya life 2016          Loving Pattaya life 2016          Loving Pattaya life 2016

A year living in Pattaya seems like about 6 months, time just seems to fly.

Great beach shot August 4th at 7am

Loving Pattaya life 2016

All the boats are waiting for the hordes of Chinese tourists.

And here they come in their thousands

Loving Pattaya life 2016 The busses roll into Beach Road of a morning and the tourists flock to the boats.

Tony & Nikki Murphy at Signature Steak & Seafood.

Loving Pattaya life 2016
The Murphy’s spent a week in Pattaya then 3 nights in Mae Pim before flying back to Australia.

Visitors from San Diego

Paul & crew @ BJs breakfast It was great to catch up with Paul, Eileen, Parker & Elle in Pattaya as part of their 9 week Asian holiday with included Chiang Mai, Bangkok, Koh Samui, Koh Samet & Danang.

Loving Pattaya life 2016        Loving Pattaya life 2016            Loving Pattaya life 2016

I have decided to meet them in Las Vegas next June before staying for a week or so at their home in San Diego. I have also promised myself a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon plus a few days in Central America, maybe Belize or Panama depending on my research? Finally a few days in Tokyo on the way home.

Seagulls in Pattaya?

Loving Pattaya life 2016

Here is a sculpture on Beach Rd showing a flock of seagulls, yet to this day I have never seen a seagull in Pattaya. 🙂

Here comes the rain

Loving Pattaya life 2016 I love seeing the black clouds roll in over Pattaya.

The “odd couple” Larry Krausz & Steven Reade

Loving Pattaya life 2016 Steve is a great mate of Larry’s from the Gold Coast. Terrific news for movie goers which vastly overshadows the recent Brangelina bullshit, the “odd couple” Larry Krausz & Steven Reade have been signed by BangBros, the largest porn studio in the world, to star in a remake of the 1988 movie Twins, which stared Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito. See if you can pick who will play DeVito. 🙂

The more thigs change the more they stay the same

Loving Pattaya life 2016 After many years the Cherry bar on Soi 3 & 2nd Rd has been sold and is now Billabong 2.

Loving Pattaya life 2016          photo Billabong 2 opening party 14.jpg          Loving Pattaya life 2016

And the beat goes on.

When can we have some fun?

Loving Pattaya life 2016 Every night you go out in Pattaya the fun starts.

Starbucks

Loving Pattaya life 2016 Opened in September at the “Bay” which is between Soi 5 & 6 on Beach Rd.

Good coffee & happy staff

Loving Pattaya life 2016 They are the first to open at the Bay, next will be McDonalds.

Stunning November sunset

Loving Pattaya life 2016

So many great sunsets from myy balcony.

My new home

Loving Pattaya life 2016 On November 1st after 4.5 years I moved from the 17th floor in Markland to the 20th, does that mean I coming up in the world?

The usual suspects

Loving Pattaya life 2016 Jim’s Burgers is a great place for a casul dinner with friends, I’m with Hamish, Jonathon & Matt.

Delicious

Loving Pattaya life 2016 Lots of varieties & you can order small or large.

One of my massage girls

Loving Pattaya life 2016 Used to be a waitress in Chamiko in Soi 3, now she works at a massage parlour in Soi 3 & sometines gives me a reasonable foot massage.

Spectacular clouds over Koh Larn

Loving Pattaya life 2016 These days I seem to be obbsessed with taking photos of clouds & sunsets. 🙂

October in Japan

Loving Pattaya life 2016 I m with my friend Kayo in a Spanish restaurant in Tokyo. I purchased a two week ticket on the Shinkansen or bullet train, then after 3 nights in Tokyo I travelled to 6 interesting Japanese cities, includung Kanazawa, Hiroshima, Kumamoto, Kagoshima, Nagasaki & Fukuoka

I arrived back in Pattaya on Ocober 28th & the following day my good friend Larry Krausz was rushed to Bangkok Pattaya hospital after suffering a major stroke, now 5 weeks later on December 5th he is still in a serious condition in the intensive care ward.

Ross & Bryce arrive from Australia

Loving Pattaya life 2016 The boys came over for a few days to visit Larry.

I lay the blame 100% on Pothole aka John David Martin who was dressed like a local bum & showing off his silly tatoos. 🙂

Pothole & sons + Kayo.

Loving Pattaya life 2016 Tate is Pothole’s eldest son, he arrived in Thailand from Australia to celebrate Xmas & to meet his 2 half brothers Tyrone & Tiger. Notice for some strange reason known only to Pothole, all his children including daughter Tamara have to have a first name starting with the letter T. Just another one of his many offbeat strange quirks. 🙂 The lovely Japanese girl in the photo is my friend Kayo from Tokyo.

Shopping for a dress in Soi 6

Loving Pattaya life 2016 Even though Soi 6 is one of the wildest streets in Pattaya there is still time for some quiet shopping. 🙂

Soi Diana redhead.

On the subject of Soi 6

Loving Pattaya life 2016 Here is Geoff from Australia, a fanatical Soi 6 supporter. We are at Leckerle in Soi 33 Naklua with his fiance Nana for a terrific meal & lots of wine.

Xmas Day with Geoff & Nana

Loving Pattaya life 2016 We started with a bottle of French Champagne on my balcony.

Lunch at Surf & Turf  & Loving Pattaya life 2016

Loving Pattaya life 2016 A great location on the beach at Wongamat. Kayo flew from Tokyo to spend 10 days in Thailand before heading to Australia.

Two nights in Bangkok

Loving Pattaya life 2016

December 29th took Pothole & Yogurt to Cheap Charles before checking out Brewski a new sky bar at the Radisson Blu.
