Pattaya life FiveStarVagabond 2017 photo blog covers the first 6 months of this year. No big travel plans except for visiting Australia in March & a couple of weekends in Bangkok.

Two friends & I ding at Signature Steak & Seafood, sadly due to the slow down in Pattaya they closed their on January 31st.
Excellent steak at Signature.
I will be so sad to see this restaurant close.
Jim’s Hamburgers
A great casual restaurant for craft beer & hamburgers. From the left we have Matt, Jonathon, Hamish, Davis & Wayne.
Say no more, these are the best burgers in Pattaya.
They come in two sizes. small at B195 or large around B300.
Cloud over Koh Larn
Throughout my life I have lived in many places with a great view, however none come close to Pattaya bay.
And when you talk about sunsets
In my opinion the best I have ever seen are those from Markland my Pattaya condo.
Another special treat in Pattaya
Four or 5 times a week I enjoy reading my Kindle while having an hour foot massage for B260 including 30% tip.

We lost a great character & friend on January 23.
Larry Krausz, a friend for around 30 years suffered a major stroke on October 28. After 2 months in the Bangkok Pattaya hospital on life support he was transported to Australia by a hospital Leer jet, thanks to his Medibank travel insurance. After a further month his life support was removed & he passed away peacefully.
I wrote the following eulogy & posted it on his Facebook page.
Today we lost Lazzorghini, a one off Austrian designed party machine who thought too much over indulgence was never enough. Originally designed as a concept model it was soon discovered it was for too complex to ever be mass produced.
Powered by a big heart & steered through life’s many hazards by a gentle soul.
A rather over-engineered unit that needed regular maintenance after many long happy journeys through smoked filled dens of iniquity that continually promoted sex, drugs & rock &roll.
Often sat idle for weeks on end during the repair process before exploding back on the group one circuit, where it would function non stop for days, providing of course that adequate lubrication was orally administered.
Adored by a huge number of fans, family & friends our special Lazzorghini will be sadly missed.
RIP little buddy.

The other exciting event in March apart from the above was my 2 week trip to Australia which included a road trip from Surfers Paradise to Sydney stopping at Kingscliff, Yamba, Port Macquarie, Forster-Tuncurry, Gosford & Coogee. Also dropped into Maroubra which is a place I have not seen for over 50 years. Just click on the links to see my photo blogs.

Paul was on his way to Angkor Wat, Phnom Penh and Seoul.
Drinks at Horizon to celebrate Hamish living in Pattaya for 10 years followed by dinner at Patrick’s Steak House.
Certainly a world class venue on the Hilton Hotel roof.

You certainly don’t have to look far to find two of the roughest heads in Pattaya, there is a frightening similarity in looks between Sean Tucker & Pothole Martin, PH naturally plays the role of the evil twin.

Dual birthday party
Matt & Jonathon & celebrated their 38th birthday one day apart in April. They celebrated with friends at a BBQ at Matt’s home in the back blockes of North Pattaya.
If Matt doesn’t stop reminding me about the Swans dismal 0/6 start to the season as opposed to the Crows undefeated 6/0, we probably won’t be able to continue being friends. 🙂 🙂 🙂

I always ask them to remove the fried potato & tomato, this is what remains for B135 or $5aud.
Very strange sight.
Initially it looked like the boats were churning up the sand at low tide. Then I saw online a comment that it was an unusual bloom of plankton or similar.
Beach Road 8.am
I walk along Beach Rd for about 25 minutes each morning, have breakfast, read the Bangkok Post & head home.
A well known Brisbane solicitor who is mad on travelling to South east Asia, Central & South America.
June 27 at Ronin Soi 16/2 Naklua
Hamish & I both thought Ronin was an excellent sushi restaurant with tonnes of atmosphere.
Upmarket & sophisticated.
We both agreed we prefer the rowdy atmosphere at Genki in Soi 4.
I finally meet up with B ill from the Gold Coast, we have many mutual friends.
