Eleven thousand restaurants

Three days dining October 2018

Eleven thousand restaurants & such little time

Eleven thousand restaurants

Eleven thousand restaurants & such little time, dining in Bangkok can be rather confusing, because there are just so many good places to eat. Having said that, I must point out that even after living in Thailand for seven years 90% of my diet is western style food.

The Hass Bistro

Eleven thousand restaurantsAvocados are one of my favourite things to eat & drink in a smoothie. This simple little cafe is in Klang Avenue which runs off Sukhumvit midway between Thong lo & Phrom Phong BTS stations.

Lets take a closer look.

Eleven thousand restaurantsChicken, cheese & tomato between 2 halves of avocado.

Yuna Japanese Restaurant and Bar

Eleven thousand restaurants Located near the Grand Swiss hotel in soi 11/1 Nana. Food & service are good with  a rather authentic Japanese atmosphere.

Eleven thousand restaurants such little time but I’m really trying. 🙂

Eleven thousand restaurantsThe food above + a glass of house wine was total of B920 or $38 Aud or $28 USD. I’m still on my avocado push, notice the tasty serve above with creme cheese. 🙂

Oh no! Not more avocado. 🙂

El Mercado is El Magnifico.

Eleven thousand restaurantsMuch more than a grocery store & delicatessen. My photo blog for lots more information can be found on THIS LINK.

This is what I chose for lunch.

Eleven thousand restaurantsCultivated in Cancale, in the beautiful Bay of Mont St Michel, Brittany region of France, The Special de Cancale this a slightly acidic oyster loved for its taste of iodine, its firm flesh, light nutty flavor.

Book your Bangkok hotel through THIS LINK for a great discount, plus you can pay later & cancel free of charge if you wish.

For over 20 years I have been enjoying Oxtail stew at the Busstop in Soi 4 Nana.

Eleven thousand restaurantsWe used to get double the size for 1/2 the price, oh well I guess that’s just inflation. 🙂

This was the size in 2016.

Soi 4 Bus Stop (3) As you can clearly see the size is shrinking.

Pirate Chambre

Eleven thousand restaurantsIt’s a little hard to find the restaurant’s entrance located on the 3rd floor of the Maneeya Centre building, which directly links to BTS Chit Lom at the Siam end.  The slow cooked lamb shank is absolutely delicious, more photos on THIS LINK.

Lets not forget Wine Connection.

Eleven thousand restaurantsSpanish style Gambas is my favourite dish at Wine Connection only B210.

Finally farewell from Starbucks at EmQuartier

Eleven thousand restaurants I’m at one of their outlets nearly every day. Thanks for visiting my Eleven thousand restaurants photo blog.

My history, particularly over the last 30 years is dominated by overseas travel. I sold my home in Australia October 20th 2011 and have have been living in Thailand since then. I don’t know where the time has gone? It seems like you go to sleep one night, wake up the next morning, and 20 years have flashed by. Not sure how many years I have left, however I have enjoyed a wonderful charmed life, and if it all ended today I would leave this world with no regrets. I was born in Sydney halfway through the last century, started my travels in the 60s with the usual U.K. Europe adventure at the age of 20, back to Australia and worked in Sydney, Melbourne & Adelaide in Sales & Marketing with multinational companies including Sanyo, Canon & Remington. Engaged to be married 3 times and never quite made it to the alter, finally realized by the mid 90s I was not cut out for "long term relationships" so I moved to the Gold Coast in Queensland in January 1987, worked for a couple of banks as a Financial Planner, I took a year off work in 1998 to travel and never went back to full time work again, after 25 fun filled years on the Coast I packed up and moved to Thailand. What is the purpose of this blog? Well I really want to use it to record my travel experiences & to display my photographs, give and receive travel tips, comment on places I visit, restaurants I eat in and use it to replace the autobiography I intended to write, apart from all that it helps me fill in my day. :) I moved to Thailand mainly because I wanted to keep travelling while my health allowed me to, there are huge advantages being closer to all the places I want to visit. Cost of living in Thailand is around 35% of the cost in Australia, plus flights are 50% cheaper because you are much closer to everywhere. ???? Consequently I am able to travel to many more places compared to living in Australia. Having said all that, it is & has always been my intention to return to Australia when my travelling is finished, I predict this will happen around 2021.
