Wongamat & Cosy Beach Pattaya

Wongamat & Cosy Beach Pattaya  are located north & south of the main Pattaya beach and offer far better conditions than the very busy and noisy Pattaya beach. There are no noisy speedboats taking people para sailing and to the islands so it is much easier to relax and enjoy the warm waters of the gulf of Thailand.

Hi rise condos at Wongamat.

Cosy Beach Pattaya

There are some huge condos and hotels at both locations, so if you want a more peaceful environment pick one of these relaxing places. I prefer Wongamat as it is much easier to visit the the Pattaya action plus there are many more restaurants and bars close by.

Many new condos at Wongamat

Cosy Beach Pattaya

There is an explosion of new high-rise condominiums overlooking Wongamat beach.

Centara Grand Mirage hotel Wongamat.

Cosy Beach Pattaya

The Centara is one of the many luxury five star hotels in Pattaya, the grounds here are like the lost city of Atlantis.

Centara is perfect for families as there are lots of pools to keep the children occupied.

My friend has a condo with this breathtaking view over Wongamat beach.

Nathan Corbett at the beach club.

Cosy Beach Pattaya

My favourite bar is the Beach Club at the Pullman Hotel in Wongamat, here is my Australian friend Nathan Corbett relaxing with a cool drink. Nathan has held 10 World titles for Muay Thai kickboxing in 3 separate weight divisions. He likes to come to Pattaya and train at Fairtex gym on Pattaya north rd.

Beach Club at Wongamat.

Cosy Beach Pattaya

I think this is the best spot in Pattaya to watch the magnificent sunsets while sipping a half price cocktail at happy hour, between 5pm and 7pm every day.

Oysters from France

On special every Tuesday from 3pm, only B420 per dozen, or $17 AUD.

Sunset at the Beach Club

Cosy Beach Pattaya

As good as any place in the world for beautiful sunsets.

Nice view at the Beach Club.

Cosy Beach Pattaya

There always seems to be something nice to look at when you visit the Beach Club.

Excellent view at Cosy Beach also.  🙂

Cosy Beach Pattaya

There is no doubt about it, these Russian girls at Cosy Beach Pattaya have given us guys more incentive to go to the beach.

Cosy Beach Pattaya is beside the Royal Cliff hotel.

Cosy Beach Pattaya

The Royal Cliff was the hotel I stayed in on my first visit in 1980.

Cosy Beach & Royal Cliff hotel.

Cosy Beach Pattaya

The Royal Cliff has an elevator to take guests down to the beach.

Cosy Beach Pattaya gets crowded in the high season.

Cosy Beach Pattaya

Things have changed somewhat in these days, firstly the huge numbers of Russian tourists are not coming due to the crash of the Rouble, and secondly the food outlets have been removed due to orders from the Navy who control the area. Very few people come here now.

My history, particularly over the last 30 years is dominated by overseas travel. I sold my home in Australia October 20th 2011 and have have been living in Thailand since then. I don’t know where the time has gone? It seems like you go to sleep one night, wake up the next morning, and 20 years have flashed by. Not sure how many years I have left, however I have enjoyed a wonderful charmed life, and if it all ended today I would leave this world with no regrets. I was born in Sydney halfway through the last century, started my travels in the 60s with the usual U.K. Europe adventure at the age of 20, back to Australia and worked in Sydney, Melbourne & Adelaide in Sales & Marketing with multinational companies including Sanyo, Canon & Remington. Engaged to be married 3 times and never quite made it to the alter, finally realized by the mid 90s I was not cut out for "long term relationships" so I moved to the Gold Coast in Queensland in January 1987, worked for a couple of banks as a Financial Planner, I took a year off work in 1998 to travel and never went back to full time work again, after 25 fun filled years on the Coast I packed up and moved to Thailand. What is the purpose of this blog? Well I really want to use it to record my travel experiences & to display my photographs, give and receive travel tips, comment on places I visit, restaurants I eat in and use it to replace the autobiography I intended to write, apart from all that it helps me fill in my day. :) I moved to Thailand mainly because I wanted to keep travelling while my health allowed me to, there are huge advantages being closer to all the places I want to visit. Cost of living in Thailand is around 35% of the cost in Australia, plus flights are 50% cheaper because you are much closer to everywhere. ???? Consequently I am able to travel to many more places compared to living in Australia. Having said all that, it is & has always been my intention to return to Australia when my travelling is finished, I predict this will happen around 2021.
