Wonderful view of Surfers Paradise
Q1 Surfers Paradise skyscraper
Q1 Surfers Paradise skyscraper on the Gold Coast in 2006. It lost its title as the world’s tallest residential tower to the 348 meter Marina Torch in Dubai in 2011. The resort offers 80 levels of luxury apartment-style accommodation.

Paradise Waters & Southport in the distance
SkyPoint, formerly known as QDeck, is an observation deck at levels 77 and 78. It is Australia’s only beach-side observation deck and has room enough for 400 people.

Notice the twin towers are nearing completion. Circle on Cavill is a $551 million commercial development with two residential towers built by the Sunland Group and positioned in a key city block in the heart of the Surfers Paradise CBD, The South Tower was completed around March 2007 and the North Tower was completed around July 2007. Both towers are joined on level 4 lounge which takes in the view of the Nerang River. The tallest point of the north tower is approximately 220 m and reflects a recent trend to building upwards in Surfers’ skyline, also reflected in the construction of Q1 and Soul.

A big difference to 2006. 🙂 Also the Hilton hotel is on the right.
Towers of Chevron Renaissance
The Towers of Chevron Renaissance are a three–tower residential resort above the Chevron Village, a retail, dining and entertainment complex just meters from patrolled beaches in Surfers Paradise, city of Gold Coast, Australia.
Avalon Apartments
In 2007 I thought I had sold my home so I rented an apartment in Avalon, sadly the contract on my home collapsed and it cost me about $1500 to get out of the lease I had signed.
Here is Avalon in 2019
A great view looking north along the river.
Paradise Island Resort with the yellow roof

Waterfront living in Surfers Paradise
There are hundreds of kilometres of waterways on the Gold Coast.
Chevron Island Surfers Paradise
A regular haunt for me as it is close to my home. Good selection of restaurants & coffee shops.
Looking west to the Gold Coast turf club
My waterfront home was just to the right of the racecourse.
Isle of Capri Surfers Paradise
The Isle of Capri is one of the expensive upmarket suburbs in Surfers Paradise.
Jupitors Casino, convention centre & Pacific Fair
I believe Pacific Fair was being renovated in 2015.
Looking south towards Burleigh Heads
A great view of Broadbeach.
A huge difference in 2019.
Lots of new buildings compared with 2006.
