Walking St Pattaya is wild & sexy, defining what really put Pattaya on the map in the early days. Sure today it’s bigger, bolder & brassier, however there now is so much more to offer in this great part of the world besides the traditional heart of Pattaya.
Fabulous neon lights
Walking St as an attraction compares favourably to many other infamous world red light areas. Patpong, Nana Plaza & Soi Cowboy in Bangkok, the RLD in Amsterdam, the Reeperbahn in Hamburg, Kabukichō in Tokyo, 42 nd St New York, Vila Mimosa in Rio De Janeiro & Kings Cross in Sydney. Sadly all of these areas I have visited at some stage in my life. 🙂
Walking St magic
I must confess I probably only visit Walking St Pattaya once every 2 months and usually when I have friends visiting or if I go to one of the clubs owned by friends. When I used to visit Pattaya for holidays I would often go to Walking St, it’s funny how your priorities change once you are living here.
This club is called Virgins
Lots of Eastern European ladies here and I guarantee there are no virgins. ;0
Alcatraz go go bar
There are hundreds of clubs & bars to choose from in Walking St Pattaya. I like to get a seat beside the street and watch the passing parade.
David Herd & Mike Baird
Mike Beard is one of Pattaya’s well known characters. He is also a really good creator of cartoons for the local press. See more of Mike’s cartoons in the slide show at the end of the post.
My favorite cartoon of Mike’s.
This really describes one of the funny parts of an expat’s life in Thailand. 🙂
Lobster Pot Seafood restaurant
One of the many seafood restaurants overlooking the water in Walking St. Lobster Pot is Ranked #224 of 516 restaurants in Pattaya by TripAdvisor, a little on the expensive side but well worth the experience.

Anyone like a genuine watch?
Well trust you won’t find one here, however you will find cheap copies of every upmarket brand in the world. I pay around $14 for one every six or seven months and they work just fine.

Most of the bar owners will tel you every hour is happy hour in Walking St Pattaya.
Cheap Heineken in 2005
The price has not changed to much now in 2016.
Walking St Pattaya in daylight
Wow! What a difference it is in daylight. Nothing here to draw the tourists, but just wait until the sun goes down. 🙂
Pattaya was like a sleepy fishing village in 1980. Even before the start of the Vietnam War, American GIs had put Pattaya on the map as the best beach destination to unwind and indulge. But when large numbers of troops began to arrive at the neighbouring Ban Sattahip Air Base in 1968, things really picked up in Pattaya. Also known as U-Tapao International Airport, the army base at Sattahip was heavily staffed and used by the US Air Force throughout the Vietnam conflict. Little performer in Walking St Pattaya
It seems age is no barrier for making a buck in Walking St. This little one was very clever and precocious.

My friend Greg Clee is the owner of a Walking St Go Go bar, here is is celebrating his birthday with one of his gorgeous dancers. Greg is an Australian who used to own the Hog’s Breath Inn at Airlie Beach in Australia.
Save me from this LadyBoy
I need saving because this is the best looking LadyBoy I have ever see and I do not need such temptation. 🙂
You would never get away with this in Australia or Europe.
Lights lights and more light
What a street, there really isn’t anything like it in the world.
There are hundreds of bars
Beer bars, Go Go bars, LadyBoy bars, you name it they are all here.
Why do guys go to Walking St Pattaya?
Well, that’s not too hard to work out is it. The main question asked a thousand times a night is “long time or short time”. 🙂
Thanks for visiting Walking St Pattaya one of the world’s most entertaining streets
