Markland Hotel Pattaya Beach Road
Markland Hotel Pattaya Beach Road is in the very best location in Pattaya, I should know because I live there. The 27 floor building has 4 floors of hotel, all the other floors are condominiums.
Located on Beach Rd just 10 Baht on the bus to get to Walking St. 🙂
Most of the hotel rooms are studios however there are some terrific two bedroom apartments with views to die for.
However you must be on the south side to see this magnificent view of Pattaya.
The south side has the better view.
That is the Holiday Inn next door.
There always seems to be a nice breeze around the pool.
Holiday Inn is next door to Markland.
Half price pizza at Holiday Inn Tuesday night and 2 for 1 drinks between 5 & 7 pm.
A great location on Beach Road, and much quieter than South Pattaya.
Very good coffee shop on the ground floor of Markland and Tops supermarket is in the basement.
I am going to enjoy a daily coffee here. 
Occasionally Markland security is not quite up to the task. 🙂

Dusit Thani Hotel Pattaya
Dusit Thani Hotel Pattaya sits on a prime location on the headland in Pattaya with wonderful views of the Bay. Two nice pools and a good restaurant selection.

The gardens are huge and beautifully maintained as you would expect.
The hotel is on a huge property, in fact the Woman’s Thailand open tennis is held here every year.
The hotel entrance is beside the Dolphin roundabout at the start of Naklua Rd where there are many good restaurants.
The pool area and others sections have just been upgraded. I often use this as a short cut when I walk to Wongamat as the pathway around the waterfront has collapsed.
The building next to the Holiday Inn is Markland condos, I have lived on the 17th floor on the south side since 2011. In my opinion I have the best view in Pattaya.
I am a regular customer here for their fantastic Yum Cha, the restaurant is quite hard to find, take the elevator near the pool to the 9th floor. The food is fantastic and the service is excellent.
Very sad to say the peak restaurant is closed permanently.
For a five star hotel the dim sum lunch is reasonably priced, about B550 for 5 baskets, plus the quality is exceptional.
Guests have one of the best views in Pattaya.

Sabai Resort Pattaya budget hotel
Sabai Resort Pattaya budget hotel is in a great location in beside Central Marina shopping mall in north Pattaya away from the madness of Walking St. Yet it is only a 10 Baht 10 minute bus ride along the beach to get among the action.
I stayed at the Sabai Resort many times from 2004 until I moved from Australia to Thailand in 2011. I still often book friends in when they visit Pattaya. There are 3 pools and many different room styles, the average price is around $60 usd per night, you will get the best rate possible through this link. Located in 2nd Rd next door to Central Marina.
Make sure you book a room beside one of the 3 pools.
As you can see the property covers a rather large area with Central Marina on the left.

One of the best family holidays with good friends.
Just across the road are some good beer bars, in particular the Atlantic bar is very popular indeed, in July 2015 they increased to the size by 50%, check it out here.
Almost beside the Atlantic is the Cherry Bar another one of my favourite haunts since 2003.
Otherwise go next door to Central Marina where there is a great choice of restaurants and Cafes.

Amari Beachside Hotel Pattaya
Amari Beachside Hotel Pattaya is on Beach Road opposite the beach and has beautiful gardens and grounds. If you can afford it stay in the Ocean Tower, good rates through this link.
It is May 2017 & a huge renovation is underway, the Garden section is being totally demolished & a new tower will be constructed in its place. Tavern by the sea on Beach Rd will also be demolished.
Lots of places to relax & chill out.

The yellow building on the left is the Dusit Thani and the 2nd high-rise from the left is Cape Dara Hotel. The high rise buildings overlook my favourite bar, the Beach Club at the Pullman Hotel.
No bar here but ideal if you want to do some laps.

This is part of the Amari hotel and offers many great food specials. Two for one drinks between 5 & 7pm each night.
All you can eat for 469 Baht every Wednesday, in fact I was there last Wednesday July 15 2015.
This duo were fantastic entertainers, both have great voices and they perform a really good style of dinner music.
The Mantra has been my favourite restaurant since it opened back in 2004, the Sunday brunch is magnificent.
Sunday brunch is the best
Without a doubt the Mantra Sunday brunch is the best I have had anywhere in the world. If you visit Pattaya put it at the top of your list. Oysters from France, Alaskan crab, etc etc, nne different kitchens to choose from.

A-One Beach Road Pattaya
Unique Beach Road Pattaya Hotel the A-One has two main pools to enjoy or simply walk across Beach road to the beach. The hotel is in a perfect location next door to my condo. 🙂
The main hotel consists of 2 buildings at the front shaped like ships and 2 at the back, in adjacent Soi 3 there are 3 more 6 story hotels and a huge 20 story one under construction. The 27 floor high-rise in the photo is Markland where I live on the 20th floor.
This is only one of around 6 of there properties in the area.
Unique and unforgettable, no wonder it is one of the most popular hotels in Pattaya. Take a Baht bus in front of the hotel for a short trip to wonderful Walking St for 10 Baht or 30 cents usd.
Sit beside one of the two large pools and enjoy the seafood buffet.
Beautifully lit up at night this Unique Pattaya Hotel represents good value. For an excellent room rate just book through THIS LINK.

Big renovation going on around the pools.
Ai have quite a few adjoining properties, this one is located in Soi 3.
This new A-One hotel will be huge, over 20 floors, they had a little mishap late 2014 when the crane toppled over.
Luckily there were no reports of any injuries.
One and 1/2 years later they are still at ground level. Once they start above ground the progress will gain momentum.
On the way to being completed, has reached 19 floors high.
The finished project, they call it the MYTT Hotel.
Quite spectacular.

Cape Dara Hotel Pattaya
Cape Dara Hotel Pattaya is a nice beach side hotel overlooking the ocean. Located halfway between central Pattaya and Wongamat beach. The hotel mini bus will ferry guests to the Dolphin roundabout where they can link up with the Naklua Rd restaurants or a Baht bus to Walking St.
There is something about polished hardwood floors that adds atmosphere in the tropics.
I must admit I didn’t try out these stools, personally I prefer a chair that I can lean back in. 🙂
This is a delightful restaurant which offers a daily Yum Cha for 499 Baht and the food was excellent.
Here is a mango desert served at Ming Xing Cape Dara Hotel Pattaya. Mango is without a doubt my all time favourite fruit.
Wongamat & Cosy Beach Pattaya are located north & south of the main Pattaya beach and offer far better conditions than the very busy and noisy Pattaya beach. There are no noisy speedboats taking people para sailing and to the islands so it is much easier to relax and enjoy the warm waters of the gulf of Thailand.
Cape Dara with the rather recognisable roof line is behind the Dusit Thani hotel which is the yellow and white building being repainted.

Centara Grand Lost City Pattaya or lost city Atlantis? They have created quite an extraordinary environment in the hotel grounds. Perfect for children to have fun.
The Centara Grand is located on the beach so you can choose between a number of different pools or a nice sandy beach.
The hotel grounds are quite special, a fabulous place to take your children.
The attention to detail is incredible, reminds me very much of some Las Vegas themed hotels.

Hilton Pattaya five star hotel dominates the skyline in central Pattaya. Perched above Central festival shopping mall the location is perfect.
Certainly one of the best locations in Thailand to watch the magnificent sunsets while enjoying a cocktail.
What a fluke, I managed to take this photos just as the flash activated. 🙂
The modern architecture is absolutely stunning.
Hilton Pattaya five star hotel is as modern as any hotel I have ever been in.
The Hilton Pattaya is in a perfect location opposite the beach and above Pattaya’s best shopping malls. Central Festival has a huge amount of restaurants and shops so you never really have to leave the building.

There is a happy hour here every night between 5 & 7 pm.
As you can imagine it is a great place to watch the sunset.

Pattaya – Hua Hin Mini Van
If you are in Pattaya and want to go to Hua Hin there is now a daily minivan service, they have offices in Pattaya, Hua Hin and Cha Am, for Hua Hin the mini van leaves at 8:00, 10:00, 12:00 and takes 4 hours to get to Hua Hin, priced at only 400baht.
The Pattaya office is on South Pattaya Road, if your heading towards Sukhumvit road go over 3rd Road and past Soi Ko Pai/ Soi Bongkot and it’s on the left hand side at soi 10, which is around 300 meters or more from Sukhumvit Road.

Holiday Inn Beach Road
Holiday Inn Pattaya Beach Road, opposite the Beach in North Pattaya. Consisting of two huge towers, several swimming pools and all the usual five star facilities. The tower on the left opened in October 2009 and the one on the right in August 2014.

Away from the crowds and madness of south Pattaya the location is more peaceful and quiet yet only a 10 Baht bus ride to get to the action.
Just north of Pattaya is Wongamat where there are some nice bars and restaurants.
There are 367 rooms in this tower.
Here is what you will see from your hotel window every morning.
There is another on the terrace as you enter from the street. A 4th pool is in the executive tower in the new building.
This is one of my favourite places in Pattaya for coffee and cake. At 7pm they offer sandwiches, cakes & pies at 1/2 price.

They make the best pizzas in Pattaya here.

If you don’t want a pizza there are lots of alternatives.

As you would expect the rooms at the front have an amazing view.
Construction begins on a new tower.
The finished product really doubles the size of the Holiday Inn.
Great outlook by the pool and across the road from the beach.
Happy hour from 5 to 7pm.
